Esport NEVER needs account raising! Remove the low level rune lock and the summoner spells lock!
I ridiculously got a Cheap Shot on Master Yi when the account level has not reached 15. I am an experienced player for 6 years, and being unable to switch the rune make me feel very upset when I feel the champion is not as strong as it usually is. I know Riot does everything but to care about an old player with a new account. That's fine, There has to be some limitation to the smurfs. Very well, let's follow Riot's logic, new account equals to newbie (smurfs are not concerned).
Therefore, the problem is: Does new accounts (MUST BE NEWBIES) have to be even weaker at mechanisms just because they are newbies? Does it mean newbies are weaker at skills; therefore they have to be weaker at mechanisms (that matches the weak skills hah!); therefore they have to have an unbalanced game (Riot: It's cool!); therefore they are not supposed to enjoy the game? Yes, in Riot's logic, newbies are not prepared to set the rune pages by themselves, for too many game elements really confuse newbies. I agree with it. BUT, what if a newbie is highly educated, having a good attitude to everything, and is willing to learn from videos, articles, or experienced friends, before he or she exactly starts the game? Does he/she have to be a newbie that is definitely not any different from other newbies, and, UNABLE TO GAIN ANYTHING AS THE REWORD OF HIS/HER HARD WORK? Does a newbie at lv. 14 have to be bullied by the opponents (even likely to be smurfs) that have reached lv. 15 which means they are free to set their rune pages?
Riot: "We did very well to separate the smurfs and real newbies". The fact: AT THE FIRST PVP MATCH OF THIS ACCOUNT, I got matched with a bunch of opponents with flash and ignite, and smites, perfectly dodging skill-shot abilities, precisely calculating the health lines (at midnight, which means it is harder to match players that could be at the similar skill level). Does the system get to know that I am a smurf by the first match? Notice that players at different account levels getting matched together is UNAVOIDABLE!
My girlfriend is a newbie. I invited her to League Of Legends and soon she finished the newbie guide and started her first game as Sona (Yes, with the ridiculous ghost and heals). Sup was called, so I asked her to go mid. Then she was crashed by the Katarina smurf, with flash and ignite, that made her want to give up this game. I asked her to keep a safe range to the Katarina and her dagger, she: "But she comes instantly to me (flash)! What can I do?". Seeing her forced ghost and heals, I could have nothing to answer. Maybe "They have runes and summoner spells, they are your daddies! Enjoy being killed!" was the only answer?
Newbies does not get any mechanism buffs to make up for their skill insufficiency. That's OK, it is a competitive game! But why are they get punished by rune and summoner spell locks, just because they are newbies?
