I was playing as yasuo and went to help top lane as they where in trouble, I had Guardian Angel for protection and I was about level 14 and Garen 1 shot me with his ult. **Garen is 3 strong 5 me **

What do you mean by one shot? The boards use annoyingly vague definitions of it. There is absolutely no way Garen's ult can 'one shot you' from full health, and thus when you're not at full hp, getting 'one shot' loses it's power in a discussion. It PURELY scales off of missing health. So he could have 1000 AD, and at level 16 his ult would still only do 525 hp damage if you were full hp. So did 'Garen one shot you' because you were already super low HP? Cuz if you have 10 HP left, I guess one could say 'OMG Minions OP! Caster minion one shot me!'

People often refer to a full combo as one-shot as well. I personally agree with you. To me one-shot should mean 1 instance of damage, 1 attack, or 1 ability and dead.

So by the "full combo" definition,

AA, Q, Tiamat reset, full duration of E, along with the concurrent damaging effects/enhancements from items, buffs, and masteries, then the base damage of Demacian Justice 175/350/525 + 28.6% / 33.3% / 40% of the target's missing health, could in theory be enough to "one-shot" someone from 100% to 0% health.

Yeah, I wanted to make sure that's to what he / she was referring. However, that's pretty much Garen's thing if you're a squishy, right? GA doesn't make you not squishy though. :) He's a juggernaut.

It doesn't do jack for you if you're the villain.

It also is very ineffective if you have no bonus health.

Oooh, might have left the "I was playing as yasuo" part out.

Sadly people on here will immediately dislike you for that.

Also, if you are the villain, Garen's ultimate does true damage to you, so your GA doesn't do anything to mitigate damage.

The only two Yasuo games I can see on op.gg for you don't have a Garen in them, so I can't look further into it for you.

If GA was your only defensive item then it is not really very effective on Yasuo.

You need bonus health in order to make resistances effective.

And to return to the previous point, health is the only counter to true damage.
