Want to get better at League, help please.

Ive played Dota 2 for about 600 hours and then a friend of mine who played league told me to try on his account. And so I did just that and liked it a lot. I play adc and supp almost exclusively and main sivir and raka/bard. I am still level 28 and so am not yet playing ranked but I would like some advice on how to play adc and support better so that I do well in my ranked games when I get there.

Well I'm not an ADC main but here's some tips.

  1. Play a simple ADC to start with. Don't try kalisto or draven because they are the hardest of the hard. (Ashe, sivir).

  2. What type of ADC do you want to play. Do you want a mobile one? Lucian, graves. Want one with damage and good engage? Ashe. Etc.

  3. Kiting. You can check guides of kiting on YouTube, scrap computer has a very good one.

  4. Know what kind of support you want to pay with because of your style. If you're a passive laner who focuses on farming try to get your support to pick something like soraka. If you are a player who wants the kills and stuff like that try to play with a thresh/blitz.

I never play support (dodge if I'm forced to play that) so I can't give any tips.

Hope this helps you :D

The hand you for this. The tips on play are great, and kiting is something I'm trying to work on so that guide will help a lot.

One problem that there is is the fact that I am a new player so the champs I have are few and many of the people I play with have few too. So I'm not sure I'll be able to get supports that are good with me specifically. Any adc's you'd recommend me to learn so that I'd be able to play with a greater number of supps?

I don't really know. I'm the aggressive-looking for kills ADC so I prefer people going thresh and stuff like that, but it's up to your playstyle. You can play passive farm Ashe/vayne or aggressive playstyles, but it's oftenly your support who will determine how will you play. Like don't try to play aggro with soraka lol.

I'm an all around player as in i play almost all positions. so i can give some support advice. if you enjoy playing Raka and Bard then it seems like you enjoy utility supports. AKA buff, healing etc.

I usually play sona and nami myself so i cant tell you much on how to play raka or bard better but one of the biggest things on supports is no matter what your team says you are the backbone of the team. the support is the champion to save his team and make the out plays, to set up the enemy to lose a fight. so dont let other players get you down because you messed up a play, it happens.

try and expand your champion pool. if you enjoy healing and buffing your team try out nami as she focuses on poke, cc, healing and move speed. sona has less play making potential outside her ult but she provides more benefit to her team with heals shields speed buffs damage bumps etc.

itemization is also very important to supports so after your first few items such as frost queens claim item 3092 and athenes holy grail item 3174 and/or ardent sensor item 3504 don't be afraid to buy items not specifically for a utility support, if you are against an AP team and your tank is not building a locket of the iron solari item 3190 then you should. if the enemy team is super mobile get a hextech GLP item 3030 for the slow, if they are super push based build a Zz'Rot portal to counter and push a lane while fighting them somewhere else.

your job is to put the other team at a disadvantage because they can't heal or lack cc where you can do one or both.

but one of the main things is to do if your new is to try and advance outside your comfort zone.

I'm only an average player myself but feel free to send me a friend request and i'm happy to chat and play and such.

I isually look up a champs build online, but I guess I never really considered which situation would need which "situational items". So this explanation is very helpful. And I look forward to trying those champs
