Regarding Morgana

I consider myself a pretty good morgana player, in the last patch, I do morgana support a lot and occasionally do morgana top lane and mid lane as well. However in this new patch, I feel top or mid morgana isn't viable anymore because league has changed her soil from deal damage per half second to deal damage per second, which apparently has made Morgana this character less variable in lane. She's more like a very conventional support champion now imo. If possible i hope Riot can make her more versatile and flexible in Rift because I really like this champion. Morgana

Idk, I really only played her exclusively as support in season 5. Cannot imagine doing anything else other than support as her in season 6 as well.

It is a damn shame as she is a great and fun champion. I know the few games I have played with her mid in ranked over the last couple of seasons I have destroyed in. Sadly, I never seemed to be able to carry as her late game. Always struggled having a useful ult as late game mid morg. Now I just run support so I feel my damage contribution is not as important.

You're totally right. I think Riot is dedicated to make her a completely support champ instead of a more viable champ in overall.

I mained Morgana mid from beta until this season. The nerfs she has endured over the past year combined with the dumpstering of Zhonya's has made me for the first time in my LoL career not want to play Morgana.

I feel ya amigo.. I started playing league when Azir came out and Morgana was the champion I played into a support role. Then I like playing her so much because my snares are pretty accurate :P many people have commented on my snare skill. XD

Anyways then I played her as mid laner and top laner as well depends on what the other team combination is. The price raise of AP items and nerf of her soil really annoyed the shxt out of me.

Wut? Are you kidding? I've been having hella fun with her mid this season. The new deathfire keystone makes her deal so much more damage that I'm QW-assasinating squishies with nothing but a Liandry's and Nomicon now.

Late game still sucks thanks to overpowered ADC 100% crit + 55% lifesteal (FU Rito) but she's still owning midgame.

Besides, as far as I know her soil still deals damage per second applied at half second ticks, and the only thing that would affect is her farming if they changed it to second ticks.

Ikr, adc is insanely strong in this season. I'm actually having thunderlord mastery on Morgana. I don't really think Deathfire fit Morgana since her skills are mostly aoe and only apply half of what deathfire can do.

I think the thurderlord hype is mostly rubbish. It does 180+ 10%AP and only once per fight because it has a high CD. Meanwhile deathfire does

Q: 20% AP + 6 base W: 10% AP/1.5s (during W) +10% AP/1.5s (after W) + 24 base = 43.33% AP + 24. To clarify, deathfire refreshes on every damage tick on W, so it effectively applies 6.6%AP/s + 10% on last tick.

R: 20% AP + 12 per champion hit.

With Deathfire you can add 83% AP +42 base to QWR and 147% + 78 with QWRQW.

Thunderlord may do a little more damage early, but once you get an AP item? Not a chance. At level 9 if you have a 'nomicon and your AP is 100:

Thunderlord: 90 +.1*100=100. Deathfire: QWR: 125 QWRQW: 225

With deathfire, every QW has the potential to deal 63% AP + 32 base, and with no cooldown you can keep spamming.

As you build AP the gap between the two grows rapidly. At 18 deathfire should deal more than double the damage of thunderlord across your full combo.

Try this build mid: Quints: 2AP, one scaling CDR. Glyphs: 9 Scaling CDR Seals: 9 scaling health Marks: Penetration

Masteries: 18/12/0, deathfire

Starting items:

  1. Dark seal. If you're good at playing safe, managing mana, and can turn ganks into free kills, take this. The snowball potential for up to 45 AP from your starting item is insane.
  2. Doran's ring. If you prefer having a little more health and mana or are worried you won't snowball.

First back: You should be able to last long enough to get a Fiendish Codex, and maybe an Amp. Tome on top.

Get Nomicon. Now you can QWRQW people for maximum tilt. I think it's still necessary due to the prevalence of lifesteal now.

Build order:

Nomicon->boots->Liandry's (congrats you're now QW killing squishies)->Rylai's (Seige with W. Harass and farm at the same time) ->literally whatever you feel like. Often I upgrade my seal.

Most games don't get much farther than the Rylai's anymore. It's pretty sad/great.

This is a midgame build. Play safe and well early game. Midgame starts when you have 1 item+boots. Take mid turret and roam everywhere-you're the strongest on the map. End the game mid game. Probably lose the game if the enemy ADC gets full build thanks to broken crit and crit heals.

At least this is how I've been playing her. My kda for the preseason so far with this build is:

W/L: 70% KDA: 15/4/10

Over about 20 games. I'll be trying some other builds this week so we'll see how it works out.

Do you have a favorite thunderlord build I could try?
