Once upon a time, Lux could ult and flash at the end of the animation to shoot the laser in a different direction. this was fixed back in season 6 at some point but other mages (like cassiopia) can still use this trick. Why is that? Lux's kit is entirely skill shots so a missed ult in lane can make her very vulnerable to ganks and all manner of assassins, so i think she needs the ability to use her flash to fix a misplaced ult.
I don't know how I feel about this. I mean mechanics, but honestly it irks my ocd. and it's oddly sickening as if it shouldn't be happening but mechanics are mechanics!
Yeah cuz that shit is totally not unhealthy or feels like bullshit right? Those kinds of flash "mechanics" all need to be removed from the game.
The animations don't even work properly for fucks sake. It even shortens animations for some reason, just such bullshit, how was this garbage ever included in this game in the first place?
I would much rather they fix this on other champions that can use it (the current patch mentions fixing it for Cassiopeia) because as others mention, it feels like a bug. I agree it somewhat changes lux's balance, but a guaranteed ulti isn't something that seems fair, really. She can already get one if she hits with q or (more or less) the e slow.
I feel as if Flash's mechanic should be simplified down to this: Instantly moves your champion from one point to another regardless of animations or channels.
So if someone like lux is mid ult then if someone jumps on you, you gain one last chance for an escape. Or if Xerath needs to fire one more bolt but is getting brushed by an assasin, he can fire it off but with the cost of loosing flash.
If you argue that this would ruin the point of an immobile mage, you have to keep in mind that flash can be used on every champion, making mobile Assasins even more mobile for that matter.
I get that this could make some abilities buggy, and I'm ok if they patched it because of it's lack of visual warning (because the charge IS a major part of the ult's balance), but gragus and Vi can do the same things with their important abilities so why can't lux?
This Montage is just a player endlessly abusing a bug.. That wasn't "Fixing a misplaced ult" That was "Look enemy, I'm firing my ult in the opposite direction of you with no indication that it's headed your way.. Just kidding, it hit you." I mean, it's one thing if she can press R, then flash to the left to make it go IN THE SAME DIRECTION, but start out a little from the left.. Entirely different to allow something so blatantly wrong as what's happening in this video.
