I dominate in normals but can't seem to do even halfway decently in ranked.

Just yesterday, I was a silver 4 Ahri main, but now I'm silver 5. The main idea is what the title says. However, I'm not just "slightly" worse in rankeds, but my performances are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I know that rankeds are naturally harder than normals, but even then, my performance is just horrible. To put it into perspective, today I got 2 back-to-back s's in normals, but yesterday, I got 3 back-to-back d-'s. I usually have about an 80-85% winrate in normals on ahri, but haven't won a single ranked match as ahri since my placements.

Are ranked games seriously like, 10 times harder than normals? Even if so, I do worse than 10 times worse in rankeds. My overall performance is simply worse. Vision score, k/d/a, cs, objectives, everything. I tend to get nervous when joining a ranked game (because of this very reason) and have decided to not play ranked for a while. Also, I understand that normal's have mmr as well, which is completely separate from ranked's mmr, and that neither affect each other (however you are unable to see your normal's mmr), so theoretically, wouldn't I be placed with higher "elo" players even in normals?

Are ranked games seriously that much harder than normals?(which would be at LEAST 10x harder) Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Help and advice would sincerely be appreciated.

This site provides an estimate of normals MMR https://na.whatismymmr.com/Botulinum%20Type%20H

Notice that your ranked MMR is higher than your normals MMR. This is because ranked starts at a certain baseline. Your normals is already tanked far below that baseline.

I suggest you look up video guides and get better at the game otherwise ranked is kinda pointless.

I dunno, according to that site, my normal MMR is higher than my ranked one so shouldn't that mean i should be stomping in ranked?

Not really. Your normal MMR isn't drastically higher. If your normal MMR was like 2000+ then yeah you should be stomping the fuck out of gold ranked.

Ok, I get that I'm not really that great and just slightly better than people I'm matched with in normals. I'll look up guides and try to get better.

But one thing still kinda confuses me, If I do well in normals and bad in ranked, why would my normals be worse than my ranked? I mean like, my performance in ranked isn't just worse compared to my opponent than it is in normals, but just worse overall than it is in normals. (and yes, I'll try to improve on that). I'm not trying to argue with you at all, I'm just kinda confused as to why my norms mmr would be worse than my ranked.

Edit: I forgot to say thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the advice.

It's hard to explain I guess. MMR starts at a base value which you can drop from. Imagine if you started at 0 but negative MMR is possible. It works that way.

Here is a graph showing how I estimate your MMR for normals and ranked compare over time.

Not to be a dick your norms mmr is way way worse than your ranked mmr. Your playing b5 and unrankeds in norms. Might be why your stomping. Then when your got back to being silver your getting shit on because your playing at honestly a bronze 5 level.

Not that I'm trying to defend myself or contradict what you're trying to say, because I understand what you mean, but from what I've heard, the normals mmr and the ranked mmr are completely separate, and that neither affect the other, which would mean that my performance in ranked wouldn't really affect who I get matched with in normals, and vise versa.

Your right and your currently getting matched with extreme low rank in normals.
