@RIOT - ARAM is Full of Bots and it Feels Bad

ARAM, for me, was once a great place to "cool down/warm up" for some Tier SR. Fast, champion-centric, high KDAs (and just challenging enough to warm up the fingers) it offered the familiar appeal of League without the negative effects of "playing for fun" you can sometimes suffer on SR.

Recently however I've noticed a frustrating trend....bots. They buy boots first, never use masteries, fully finish items rather than build to them AND. THEY. LOSE. GAMES. Even one bot is enough to herald the loss of a game, and I've played games where I am the only non-bot on my side of the bridge. Even if you win, it's bittersweet because you know that bot account earned some precious IP for running an illegal program. Personally I feel a single use of a bot program should include, suspension, removal of gained IP and any other sanctons RIOT can level. This sort of behaviour is malicious, intentional and not prone to repentance and changing.

Maybe I am unlucky, or unique in my experience of 14 of my last 20 games including a bot on one side or the other, but I'm guessing not. I suppose I'm hoping for a red post acknowledging the problem is known and someone, somewhere is looking to tackle it.

It's well known. Bots are only in low MMR games since they can't really win many games. As soon as your ARAM MMR goes above their limit they are gone.

Riot can't stop people from making bots but they can ban them. They do it in waves so whoever makes or uses bots doesn't realise what triggers the system. You can help by reporting bot accounts for cheating/3rd party software.

Wave bans are for now the best long term solution since you encounter them early while leveling and never again. Short term solution of banning them on sight brings a risk of bots spilling into ranked play or higher MMR games.
