MATCHMAKING AND QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS FOR LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Hello all,

We are TheRealTD (EUW) and Drodarin (EUW) and we are two engineers specialized in queue handling and customer support and we want to submit our ideas for a better life on League of Legends that would improve every aspect of the game.

1-Option to disable pings on the screen Right now its only possible to mute a teammate/enemy with the button in scoreboard or with the “/mute XXX” – “/mute all” command. It should be nice for suppressing abusive pings to add a button in the scoreboard screen to not see pings from a selected teammate and of course add in-chat commands do to so:

/disableping XXX – for not seeing pings from that teammate /disableping all – for not seeing pings from all teammates

2-Option to mute teammates chat in global options Usually pings are good enough to communicate with team and of course are less subject to be used for hard flaming (u cant insult with pings only harrass). It should be nice to have a global option, like the one for muting all chat, to mute team chat.

Teammates with this option enabled should have on the scoreboard (team read only) an icon to show that their team chat is muted to dissuade teammates from flaming him (he can’t read why do that then!)

3-Option to restrict own chat to read-only mode Everyone at least one time has muted a flamer but then flamed back because they were triggered. A nice feature in global options as the point “2” would be to mute himself making the chat not writeable but only read-only. This would avoid a toxic player that want to reform to actually improve behavior. A chat command could be also implemented to /disablechat – disables chat and cooldown pings from teammates (only system chat read e.g. baron taken input/output form players including yourself disabled)

4 - Vote kick

4.1 - Vote kick on champion select (trolls)

Everyone has experienced at least once a situation in champion select like: A) “mid or feed” B) “I troll” C) “disco nunu” D) “autofilled I troll” E) “autofilled I mid wtf” F) Others…

And the only option be either dodge (-3 LP and triggered or promo game automatically lost and more triggered) or play, lose 20-30 minutes of your life taking flame and maybe flaming back which leads to rage quit and not playing league for a week. Nobody wants that. Not Riot not the players. Only trolls want that and they must stopped. Batman moment aside.. In champion select there should be the possibility to right click on teammate portrait and vote kick

This should take different number of votes to apply: I) RANKED SOLO/DUO: 3 votes

II) RANKED FLEX: it depends on how big is the premade size of the troll If the troll is alone: 3 votes required Every other premade size: 2 votes required

III) NORMAL DRAFT and BLIND PICK: same as RANKED FLEX

A vote kick description is mandatory to successfully require or apply vote kick (cannot be blank!)

Now I know that lots of “but” are coming but let me explain how we can counter the improper use of this:

Every vote kick is registered (both the person who started it and who contributed to it). No penalty is given at first at who is kicked this way. Every case must to be reviewed by Riot Support of by special elite of members of community that always have behaved properly (no ban, no chat ban, no suspension, high honor rewards (Riot Support decision overcome special elite one and only Riot Support can properly apply the sanction).

If the troll is real he is punished hard (for ranked full LP loss and time account suspension that can be from 15 minutes to permanent in base of the number of infractions). If the troll is NOT real but the poor guy just wanted to play teemo then the person who requested the vote kick and the other people which confirmed the vote are taken into the punishment (2x for the person who first requested the vote kick).

See this as a Minority Report system that can prevent troll before they actually troll.

Now you could ask me what happens when someone is kicked? Do we have to lose other 6 minutes to ban, champ select and lose other valuable time?

This leads to the next point:

4.2 Champion selection / matchmaking improvements Its frustrating to restart the champion select every time. That’s why I personally think there should be no reason to this. If someone is kicked or doesn’t pick or ban or just left champ select they should be removed from champion selection and while the actual champion selection STAYS ALIVE only the person in this scenario is replaced by someone else with similar MMR/division and role (if not autofill protected) the person replaced had.

Now that can happen in different circumstances:

A) If someone do not ban is removed from champ selection and then new person starts champion selection with his ban. B) If someone do not select his/hers champion it is removed from the champion select and the new person start the champ select with his pick. C) If someone is kicked as seen in point 4.1 it is not punished before the reviews of the Vote Kick and he starts the champ select either in point A or B or waiting other players to pick/ban

With this timers for ban/pick champion could be halved to improve champ select start timing.

4.3 Vote kick on troll in game The same logic is applied as point 4.2. If your Vayne ADC is clearly inting then from the chat you can type “/votekick playername”. This needs number of votes as 4.1 and leads to not be punished immediately waiting for reviews as said in 4.1. The game is paused waiting for another player (that owns the champion) to join the game. The new player is pop- up the possibility to start a game with “XXX CHAMP”, KK ROLE at minute “YY:ZZ” he decides if he wanna join. If he accepts he is given 1 minute to select Runes Masteries and Summoners. Once in game all gold earned by the troll is refunded so he can start his own build. Runes Masteries and Summoners choice is made blind without knowing the enemy team composition and builds and KDA. The new player can buy items once in game seeing the whole situation. All people in queue can be selected for player substitution after kick based on MMR/division and role. People that win the game substituting a kicked player gains full LP + X LP if lost the substituting player loses LP minus X LP

4.4 Vote kick on afk/disconnect If a teammate goes afk (intentionally or not) game pauses for 1 minute. After this time teammates based on number of votes in 4.1 can decide if vote kick. The rest is the same as 4.2

5 Matchmaking also based on ping All matchmaking queues should group not only by MMR/division but also on ping average (500ms players should play with other 500ms players!)

6 ELO calculating based on single player performance A player 17/0/4 Zed MID with 300 cs at 28 min that lost the game should not lose the same LP as the TOP laner 5/7/3 Fiora 150 cs. Elo calculation should use as a coefficient the performance of the single player both in lose for lost and gain for victories.

Please join the discussion, it would be nice to have also Rioters suggestions and opinions and we are of course available to work together to improve these ideas.

See ya on the the Rift!

How about implementing some champ select report system for people who lock in ignite teleport ezreal jungle and force you to dodge?

and we are two engineer specialized in queue handling and customer support

  • Engineers don't handle customer support.

  • Engineers know that there is an S in Engineers.

  • Programmers, Software Developers, and System Designers do not refer to themselves as "Engineers".

Please stop trying to give credibility to a thread containing the same tired old "ideas" that have been discussed and rebuked as un-implementable a 1000 times over.

Thanks.
