Why did they remove these?

  1. The bounty symbol next to someone's health bar when they get a few kills and
  2. The ability to see your allies' trinket ward stacks ?????????????? For anyone that never noticed it, when you would get a few kills there used to be a bounty symbol next to your health bar showing how much bounty gold you were worth. This was helpful in quickly identifying who was currently really big in the game and would give lots of shutdown gold. Now there's no way to tell by just looking at the scores who has a bounty. You could have 20 kills but if you were recently shut down multiple times you won't have a bounty. Also, it made you feel really important when you got that neato symbol by your name. Not sure why they removed this and added nothing back to show bounties. And second, why can we no longer see our allies' ward stacks? This was insanely useful in the game, especially for bot laners. My adcs sometimes either don't ward or flame me for not warding because they can't see that I have no ward available. When my adc wouldn't ward, usually pinging their yellow trinket would let them know to ward. It's also helpful in many other instances, like for example if the baron pit needs to be warded and my top laner is WAY closer than I am and I need to go back. But I'm not sure if they can ward or not. Asking "can you ward baron" just makes me look stupid if they have no wards. Why can we know everything else about our allies but not their ward stacks? Especially since they're able to know my sightstone stacks??

They talked about removing the bounty symbol somewhere. Turns out it wasn't important to decision making 95% of the time. Since it wasn't useful (people didn't change targets to attack the bounty over other desirable targets) it basically became visual clutter and was removed.

Wish I could give you a +10 on your explanation of why missing trinket counts are impacting bottom lane success.

They removed the bounty flag because they didn’t have room with the hp bar update. I thought it was a very handy indicator, but that’s what they said.

Not sure about the trinkets. I always ping my own trinket (its cd) when I think we need a ward bot so my adc knows they need to ward or be pushing at their own risk.

Whattttttttttttttttt they didnt seriously remove trinket ward stacks visibility on allies? How do you know? I just played yesterday and swear I saw them (but now that i think of it mayhbe i just thought my ally was out of wards), where did you see this change?

They removed the bounty system because it was kinda pointless. You rarely ever wanted to listen to who had a bounty. The example a Rioter gave was "If you see the enemy Rammus has a bounty, you're still better off hunting down the enemy ADC". It didn't matter who had a bounty, as the priority target is almost always decided by something other than bounties.

As far as not seeing ally ward stacks, I've witnessed players flaming supports for "not warding enough" or "no fucking wards on map" and the support would counterflame by spam pinging the flamer's 2 unused trinket ward stacks. I personally wouldn't see that as bad, but I can see why Riot would.

Riots View on supports: season 7 we build them up, season 8 we knock them back down

While we're on the topic of wards...

Since we know Rift Herald replaces your trinket until used...

and

We know that if you have the rune "Magical Footwear," the boots won't spawn in your inventory until there is space...

Is it possible to make Control Wards replace normal trinkets upon purchase at full inventory and then moving into the actual inventory if not used but room becomes available in the inventory for the Control Ward to move to?

As a diver player, I THOUGH I was using the shut down icon to know whether to go for the adc or the talon or the mid lane mage as a target... I guess I wasn't looking at that icon according to RIOT? .... I guess I dunno what my eyes do. (Not being sarcastic, maybe I just didn't use the thing?).

I didn't even know those ever existed.

I don't know, but my guess for the bounty thing is that it was noob bait more often than it is helping. For instance maybe the support picked up three early kills in the game so they on a streak, but then the ARAM mid phase happens and your Elise decides that she wants to cocoon the support instead of the ADC for that sweet gold boost. Despite the fact that by this point death timers are long enough and the ADC has farmed enough that he is STILL the priority target.

Basically my dude, due to things like objective control, scaling champions, and increasing death timers, the window in the game where shutdown gold is actually significant enough to warrant you changing target priority is very small, like literally just early lane phase.
