How can 6-4 in promos end up Bronze 5??? WTF?
This is total BS. I won 6 games and I'm stuck bottom of the barrel. What's the point of even having the promos then? On another account last year I went 5-5 and ended up silver 3. What is this crap?

What division were you in before. If you were bronze before then i have some news, I was silver 4 and got placed in bronze 3 for going 6-4, this is pretty ridiculous..... wtf riot, you said we were probably going to be placed "slightly lower" then where we were in season 4. NOT FKING AN ENTIRE GODDANG LEAGUE AWAY FOR WINNING A MAJORITY OF THE GAMES!?!?!?!? its going to take me around 30 games to get out of bronze (15lp per win and accounting for losses) so this is wasting so much of my time, and just to clarify if i went 7-3 i would get placed in bronze 2, and if i won 8-2 i would get placed in bronze 1 to silver 5?
There's like 3 people in here who have their heads on right. Are you really complaining about placement? If you were Silver last season then the climb shouldn't be too hard. After all that just means your better then the average Bronze player. Like you all have a year to climb so ball up, quit *****ing and wipe your noses.
MMR matters. If you MMR is bad, you can wind up in Bronze even if you went 10-0. You MMR wasn't the greatest and you only won 60% of your games. I went 6-4 and wound up in Silver II last season. Placement matches barely matter. MMR, on the other hand, is really important.

8-2 bronze V I don't think last season should even count if you were bronze or silver. Would have placed better if i have never play rank.

It's not a full reset and winning vs other Bronze players won't move you up much until you do so reliably.
I did that last season, and climbed to Gold 5... so if you really belong somewhere else it will still give you more points when you win.
I just duckin won 8 out of my promos and riot decides to place me not bronze 1, not in bronze 3, but they duckin put me in BRONZE 5 for going 8-2???????

Depends on your MMR last season.
The games you get placed in for placements are somewhat based on your old MMR. If you had Silver 3 MMR, won your 6 games against people with Bronze 1 MMR and lost 4 against Bronze 5 MMR, you'll get placed low as fuck.
Also doesn't help that everyone gets placed below Plat 1 in placements, meaning that since no one is in Diamond+ early on, people who might normally be placed into Silver 5 would end up in Bronze 2-3 due to extra high elo players filling up the upper tiers of Silver and Gold until they start climbing.

Depends on where you started last season -- if you played last season. Pro players and streamers explained that many of them started high level diamond to platinum even though most were master or challenger end of last season and did well in placement games. You should expect to be 2 tiers lower. Ex: a diamond might get placed mid tier silver, a gold might be placed bronze -- even if they did well in placement games. Besides, if you deserve to be higher than bronze 5, it should be plenty of free wins there -- easiest rank to exploit opponents. It's at the rank 2 and rank 1 of tiers (gold 2, diamond 1, bronze 1, etc.) where it is hardest to make the jump. People downvote you probably because literally everyone else experienced the same thing.
This was an old account that was B4. I play on another account that's silver last season. How can you win 6 games and get rewarded the same for winning 0? This is so not right. They said the season was supposed to be a reset, which means everyone who wins 6 games should be on the same level.
I went 8-2 as bronze 5, and ended up bronze 5, 0 points. my MMR actually went down 9 points. Makes no sense.
If I remeber correctly your first games cost 50 a pop every time you lose then 25 a piece. You also start with lower mmr than you ended last season if you were over 1000 elo.
I went 4-6 even when adc carrying but you know afks and trolls are op in ranked and not normals. Silver 2 last season: 6-4 to Bronze 3 this season: 4-6

My friend won 6/4 and got bronze 5.. and i was in promos won 6 lost 2 and i said fuck it midgame and quit. Riot wont award us for doing better. Then im going back to other games. ;/
Same just happened to me, I dropped 275 LKS after my promos. was 6 and 2, played two games today and then ended up bronze 5. I was silver 5. So that is a thing... I am done playing League. Fuck it. I just went and bought Heroes of the storm. They can suck a on a fat bowl of dicks. ALSO THEY HATE SUPPORT PLAYERS. I BET MOST OF US GETTING KICKED IN THE SHIT ARE SUPPORT PLAYERS. there isn't a good way to gauge how well of a support you are right now.

Yeah, your W/L doesn't matter that much. Out of my placement matches, I won 2, and lost 8. 2 of the losses were from intentional feeders, but losses nonetheless. and even though I did absolutely terrible in my matches, I got Bronze 1. I've heard a lot of stories about people winning all of their placement matches, but getting bronze 5, but I really want to know; does it depend on my classic games? or is it just about mmr. and if so, how can I raise my mmr?
