So I lost AP when I bought an AD item.. Whats going on
I was playing Kaisa, and I had 164 AP with 5 items and a QSS. After I buy Mercurial Scimitar, I end up with 155 AP. I undo and I return to 164 AP. What the heck?!

you probably have some sort of adaptive power from your runes, and when you bought merc scim the game converted the adaptive power from AP to AD
Probably your adaptive force runes? If you have more bonus AD than AP, some runes/stat shards will change accordingly.
So if you have 50 AD and 10 AP, your runes will give you AD. If you have 50 AP and 10 AD, your runes will give you AP.
You got 9 Adaptive force from runes which when you had more AD than AP became 5 AD instead of 9 AP.
You changed your adaptive stats. (Riot should just let us choose. It seems like it would be easy to implement a toggle.)
Adaptive force from runes, when you bought scimitar it caused your AD to dominate your AP and the 9 AP became like 6 AD or something.
