seeded prelims in season 5

so i've been playing ranked on and of during the preseason. (i was b3 btw.....) although i was passable during preseason when prelims came around and i started playing i win 6 of my 10 games and where do i get placed? bronze 5.... i carried my team through 5 of those 6 games too. the only reason i can see for this is the fact that during the preseason i was getting placed with people who were trolling or were not sure what to do as a team. so i kept on losing during preseason. due to the "seeding" during preseason, this led to me getting a rank that i dont deserve. (im not saying i should be in gold or anything, i meant i should NOT be in b5 after winning 6/10 games)... has this happened to anyone else? where you were one of the best people in your team during prelims and you get placed so low?

Here we go again.

First off you went 5-5 not 6-4 let's get that straight right now.

Your MMR pre-season was at around 741. You lost your first 3 placement games (1st 3 have more weight to move you quickly to where you belong so that hurt a lot) Then proceeded to land 5-5. So the expected result should be around 710 or so, not much loss. The actual result is around 725 MMR. Which is bronze through and through, in fact the only reason you likely held B3 last season is just that it takes a little extra oomph to drop down divisions and you were teetering on that mark in B3.

Relatively another guy that dropped from g5 0lp landed himself in B2 at 1,037 MMR. The logical conclusion is you need around 900 or so MMR if you want to legitimately earn your bronze 3 back.
