Do you think Ranked should be limited to champs with Level 5+ mastery?

It seems every game that I play there's at least one person who has literally never played that champ before, and yet they are 'breaking them out for the first time' in ranked.

Should Riot limit ranked play to champions the players have attained a certainly level of mastery in?

Do you think this would help overall with ranked play?

Then you would need atleast 16 level 5 champions to be able to play ranked

And not that many people have time to play regularly, people have jobs, studies, etc...

so no

Another problem is that this will also promote these jerk-ass "I ONLY PLAY TOP SO I ONLY MAIN TOP LANE CHAMPIONS" attitude.

Autofilled to support? Hello, Camille.

Well that would keep people out of ranked until they actually start to understand the game.

That's just a vague concept

To gold player standard, your silver 5 rank means you don't understand the game. To a diamond standard, I don't understand the game ...

Getting to level 30 is plenty of time to understand the game. Some people will never be good, some climb naturally.

Yes, I don't understand the game like a diamond player.

But imagine how low of a knowledge b5 players have if a silver player knows they're bad. I used to play against them, and trust me - I've seen people who go against all ap team and dont know they should build mr - that's the kind of lack of knowledge I'm talking about, and that so basic.

I'm not talking about climbing, i'm talking about basic stuff about the game, and what works and what doesn't.

FYI: with such a system you are not ready for Ranked. You have 13 champions at Level 5+ of the required 16 (or 20 when we get to 10 bans).

FYI I never said I want that kind of system :) But if that was required, I'd have 16 5+ lvl champs in no time. Don't worry about me honey. :*

people will still suck with the champion and still will have no idea what they are doing with it.. It's already annoying enough to get multiple lvl 5 mastery champions specially for those who only have enough time to play maybe a game or two a day or every so many days

Yes, but only if they remove levels 1-30 and make it so that you're required to have mastery 5 on 16 different champs instead. Not level to 30, get mastery 5 on 16 champs too. Too much.

You're going to have level 30 a long time before you have mastery 5 on 16 champs. Say it takes 20-30 games on SR to get mastery 5, that's a minimum of 320 games. It only takes about 150 games to get 30. It's still a bad idea either way, level 5 mastery means nothing. You can have a 0% winrate on a champion and have a level 5 mastery. Hell, I don't even have 16 champions with level 5 mastery.

That will probably just lead to more boting in normal games or aram.

what a joke

several players frequently lose games on their level 5+ mastery champs daily

no. I think this proposal is fucking stupid.

dominusx1 votes

yeh my mastery 4 renekton is sitting at that 100% winrate too bad im not mastery 5 with him so i suck. boy..

JamesTheMage171 votes

I only partially agree with this. It should be mastery 2-3 so we know that they aren't trying that person out for the first time but still have somewhat knowledge and skill on them without wasting their time to get them up to 5.

YES!! Too many first time this or that.... If not 5, at least 4....

No.

And then you get autofilled to an off-role and have to play a shitty champ for it because it's your best Mastery 5 available.

DrCyanide1 votes

FYI: you would be ineligible to play Ranked, as you have only 11/16 required champs at level 5+.

Champion "Mastery" is a measure of how often you play a champion, not how skilled you are with them.
