THEORY: upsetting a slow push via early duel ganks

i cant find my renekton river + yasuo mid games, but i do recall versing a ryze or such mages. i would get the assist not the kill and baby sit mid and bot lane. i would then farm the jungle lessers and leave a ward for the counter jungler offering them less jungle in exchange for a gank.

the point i wanted to make was: can upsetting early duels counter the slow push strategy // hypothesis

its like a gank but not, more like cripple the aggro'd mage/caster especially stationary casters and let the assassin finish for the kill. you setup for their layup / dunk if things go wrong and : a. the mage runs under the turret couldnt renekton turret dive?- offering little gold and exp for double ko b. peel and back back c. ward and dive harrass

the crucial fact is that opponent must engage, if not loses the wave to turret.// you put opponent in a dilemma all for early game advantage
