Taliyah Passive

I've been playing a lot of Taliyah lately and I think she is in a great place with all abilities. However, it is really tedious to have to click next to walls to benefit from Rock Surfing when traveling over long distances. When I recall from mid lane to purchase items, I'm watching top and bot on my walk back to lane. This is so I can get a sense of how the other lanes are doing and maybe decide which one to roam toward. If I want the full benefit from Rock Surfing on my way back to mid lane with Taliyah, I have to click next to the Nexus, Inhibitors, turrets, base wall, and finally jungle walls to move as fast as possible, which gets annoying.

So my suggestion for a quality-of-life change to Taliyah's passive would be a change in how long-distance movement commands are calculated if she is out of combat. Ideally, clicking somewhere on the minimap would have the white pathing line hug walls if it will bring me to my destination more quickly.

On a similar note, why does the passive boost disappear if she uses a spell? It clearly says out of combat I'm pretty sure you're not in combat if you don't damage anything or take damage, yet casting any spell cancels it

Boots of mobility doesn't go away if you cast a spell..

Good point. I have noticed this too! Maybe Riot thought spamming Q along with Rock Surfing gives too much movement speed, with the additional movement bonus from Worked Ground.

Hell no. That would just be a general buff to bad Taliyah players. Part of having that advantage is actively using it.

Sure it would help out bad players, but in combat where skill shines true my suggestion would do nothing.

No, it's a direct buff to bad players on the hardest and most rewarding part of Taliyah's kit: when to roam and the path to take there.

People need games on her to get the max out of her roaming potential. The above change literally lowers her skill floor.

I understand now. Good point!
