Can't play champions I enjoy anymore

It's very simple, I feel like it's impossible to play the champions I enjoy, mostly scaling late game ones in my case. I try to play "the old way" aka farm/ kinda poke but not looking for kills, it just never works.

Best case scenario I don't die and outfarm my opponent, but there's so many kills given in other lanes that other champions get 50% more gold than me by being aggressive 24/7 with limited cs. Worst case scenario the enemy jungler just comes in and decides I must die, allowing my opponent in lane to take an advantage and either snowball me or my team by roaming.

You can't try to control the rythm in lane because new champions/reworks and popular champions in general can just trade 24/7 with limited downside, either through overloaded/absurd kits, or through permanent 2-3v1 situations preventing any counterplay due to the damage creep.

It's just exhausting to even try playing champions you like and not champions high in the tier lists, especially when you're not with premades to help out and try to coordinate with.

I don't want to play champions who can literally all-in at every level-up and every time there laner uses a spell on a minion, I don't see any future for this game in general and especially for me if things don't slow down. I can't believe people enjoy games over at 10 minutes, it just doesn't feel right.

Unfortunately the China market is dominating this game’s market. And they want games done in 10 minutes.

Meanwhile us old guard who miss 30-50 minute game’s and having late game be a thing again are just shit outa luck.

It’s what WILL kill this game if it’s not addressed.

They are going to cater to the volatile Chinese market, and make their dedicated players who have been playing for years give up and leave. Then when the Chinese players find the “next big thing” they’ll leave in droves and riot will just be shit out of luck. They chose those who weren’t devoted to their game and are playing as a fad over those who built this game from the ground up.

I would suggest checking out GoliathGames on Youtube/Twitch. He mains scaling champs that are weak early like Yorick and Urgot. It might give you some perspective with how to play them or champs like them in the current meta

This isn't limited to champions that don't fit the "end the game in 10 minutes" meta, but also champions that have been blatantly neglected by Riot. I hate this process that Riot abuses so much, it goes: 1 - Champion gets changed in one way or another 2 - Champion becomes too strong and problematic at its core 3 - Everyone abuses the champion 4 - Riot swoops in and applies all the wrong balance changes 5 - Champion becomes unplayable and everyone starts to offer changes 6 - Champion's popularity dies down because they're so unplayable 7 - Riot waiting until the champion playerbase is dead, then saying that since no one is playing them they're no longer priority.

Trust me, I'd 100% be a Karma main or even one trick if she was playable.

Edit: This process of neglect is why they removed both Dominion and Twisted Treeline.

Um... Adapt?

You know... it's almost as if we need a game mode that brings back the feel and timing that RIOT trashed in their effort to make games fit into their streaming schedule. RIOT made all these changes to make sure more games close earlier. Baron changes, Dragon changes, Rift Herald, as well as minion changes turret changes... encouraged gratuitous skirmishing... they even implemented a surrender vote at 15 minutes. RIOT has made a concerted effort over the years to make games fit more cleanly into a certain game length.

And it sucks.

Viktor is just a weak champion ATM. He's squishy with low range and unreliable CC, and has a weak unsafe early. I think the best way to play him is with electrocute + nimbus cloak ghost.

Electro gives you some pretty good trading damage and burst. Nimbus Cloak + Ghost actually lets you kite and gives you a lot of outplay potential. His cooldowns are still insane and theres not a lot you can do to solve that. Also Viktor isn't playable from behind. From ahead he's a BEAST though.

I don't know if I would consider TF a scaler. He has great utility, great roams, and a decent laning phase. Just play with your team and you will be fine with both champions.

I love teleport but I find it's kinda overrated. If your champion can afford it, combat summoners are a lot better. As I write this Viktor is being played by Froggen in the LCS lol.

Update: Froggen went 5/1/7 and won.

I used to be a very dedicated Anivia one-trick pony. She was in my highest mastery points, I dedicated lots of money to buying every single one of her skins, countless times I bought event orbs and hextech chests trying to roll her legacy skins like Team Spirit, Noxus Hunter, and Hextech. And I did it. I didn't play a more fun champion in this game.

But I just can't play her anymore. Every single new champion having mobility to get out of your Q and R, playing against assassins every game, and having your items nerfed because of oher champions, isn't fun. Anivia got hurt because of other Tear users like Ezreal and Cass being too strong. The meta is totally against her now. And like I said before, it's not fun at all when you can't land anything because everyone has mobility.

I stopped playing mid entirely. I'm sick and tired of playing against cancerous tumour assassins every game. Yasuo and Syndra aren't exactly fun champions to face either.

You're silver, the champion you play doesn't matter, you can play anything to diamond with passable game knowledge

I have the same problem, if i don't play meta champs i simply can't play

ThunderCraft1/26/2020, 8:06:08 PM1 votes

then play norms, not everything need to revolve around ranked.

Game hit its peak honestly back in season 3 or 4 as far as gameplay goes. But while I understand your frustration you need to understand a basic concept of the game, if another lane or lanes are losing, you need to win yours, not later, NOW. You need to win and win it hard then transfer that power to there lane. Otherwise sure you'll have your perfect cs and no deaths. well no deaths and perfect cs till its 4 fed champions you can't out duel in your lane with Rift. Lets not even consider by playing to safe you give up all pressure on drags ect.. Your basically wanting your team to completely carry you, which seems to mean your a Yuumi Main.

Totally agree with OP. Cannot play my fav ad carry (kog Maw) because he will just be shat on by any other champion in the game (supports included).

People tend not to play a team-oriented, which makes me ask where Riot failed trying to create a team game.
