Illoai's "E" Move Should be Changed...

By "Changed" I don't mean nerfed. As someone with anxiety, the sudden change in the visual effects on screen, the different sounds, and of course the random tentacles popping up everywhere trying to kill you, can be overwhelming, and even cause people with anxiety to be too busy trying not to have an anxiety attack to actually fight the enemy.

I'll admit openly that Illoai's E is a pretty unique and cool idea. But there should perhaps be some changes to make it easier for people with issues like anxiety, or paranoia (or any other issues I haven't mentioned) to deal with.

Let me try to explain this so that you can maybe understand what it's like. You go on League of Legends, maybe to try to relax, and you get Illaoi E'd. The screen suddenly changes, and the sound changes. Illaoi's voice can be heard in this strange echoing tone. It makes you feel like she's in your head, and it can REALLY mess with you. It doesn't feel like you're playing League of Legends anymore. It feels like you've unwillingly stepped into a Silent Hill game. It's not enjoyable, it messes with your head, and overall it makes it impossible to play against her, because you're too worried that if you get too close, she's going to E you and you'll be put through that Hell all over again.

Now, what changes could be made? It's hard to say. It IS a really cool move, and in changing it, you don't want to take too much away from it. So here are my suggestions: -Add a bar somewhere on the screen that lets you know how much longer you'll be a vessel for (Or how many more tentacles you need to kill in order for things to go back to normal). This gives the player some reassurance that it won't last much longer, and that if someone was dealing with anxiety during this, they could look at the bar and realize they only have to deal with it for a little while longer. That it WILL end. It's easy to forget that when you're mentally freaking out. -Lessen the amount of time you remain a vessel -The visual effects are cool, but coupled with the audio, it's just a bit too much and can be very overwhelming. Somehow toning down one or the other might make it more manageable. -Make it so once you make it to the base (or the fountain, even), you are no longer a vessel. That will give the player a "Safe place". Having the feeling of "No where is safe" is not fun. -Removing Illoai's voice from the audio that plays while being a vessel, or altering it so that it doesn't sound as ekko-y (see what I did there?) and terrifying. I'd say this is what gets to me the most. It feels invasive, like someone's in your head. (I don't have schizophrenia, but I imagine someone that does have it might have issues with this factor as well).

Those are my suggestions. Feel free to add some of your own.

This game should be enjoyable for EVERYONE.

i get you. its too oppressive. I constant lose 2 waves of minions when she does it. its too much for a move. it needs to be that if you leave the circle you get cured. that move has no weaknesses. attacking illaoi is a bad idea. shes tanky. and she will outdamage u.

I can't relate, but I'll up vote anyways. Hope they change it for you.

As much as I can see it's a struggle for you, I don't think there's much they can do to change it up. It does tell you how many more tentacles you have to kill on your hud (it's a debuff icon that has a number under it).

The moves thematic is your struggle to fight for your soul and refusal to let it die (coincidentally fitting with your situation), so it's kind of hard to change it up without taking it's theme away.

Though I do think a change that might help a bit is increase the amount of time decreased from the soul being up when you attack Illoai. Right now it's 1, which is okay, but I feel it could benefit from 1.5 a bit more or something since 10 seconds is a lot of time to attack something stationary with a tentacle near by to assist in keeping Illoai healthy in case someone decide to damage her (and considering you either stop her from taking your soul or risk getting out traded).

The only other thing I can suggest is playing 5 mans with friends and keep Illoai banned if she causes you that must stress over it. Maybe try to get a hold of a RED and see if they can give any suggestions...

Oh, you could turn off voices too if the echo part of the voice stresses you out.

Nocturne ult must be fun. I do agree with adding a duration timer for this, I didn't realize that illaoi would be a problem for those with anxiety.

Do people just not look at the debuffs above their champion hud?

Riot carefully manages the amount of visual clutter on the screen, but it's always clear how long effects will last.

It's unpleasant when you get hit by an enemy's skillshot? Better get Riot on the case!

The pain of Illaoi's E landing still doesn't compare to getting hit by any of the true hooks in the game or a lot of really brutal skillshots.
