Thinking of saying goodbye... No Rank Reset.

April this year I restarted League after years of not playing. I was never a great gamer, Gold 3 i think was my highest back in the day, but I enjoyed it. I restarted and got placed Bronze V. Fair enough, new meta, new characters I had never seen I got roasted. I was happy enough with that. Fast forward several months, and after improving drastically I find myself stuck in low ranks weighed down by games where I carry but just cannot do enough to compensate for new players who dont know mechanics or might be too greedy for glory to play as a team. All this to say, it might be time to say goodbye until later on this year just before the November season ends, as it is so boring to be stuck with new people repetitively losing. I have no illusions, I am no Platinum or Gold player anymore. But its certainly frustrating when I cannot leave B3 cos of repetitive losses from that one fool who still rages like a 3 year old on sugar in a supermarket.

It would be great if you could pay once every 3 months to reset your rank.

TLDR; I am done with League till next year due to a failing player pool who end up stuck in the gutter.

You know what would happen ? :)

The "mid rank elo" (aka silver 3/4 i think) would be full of bronze 1,2,3,4,5 on their way to where they belong. Making the actual silver elo worth nothing since the game would be even worse.

I find myself stuck in low ranks weighed down by games where I carry but just cannot do enough to compensate for new players who dont know mechanics or might be too greedy for glory to play as a team.

If you can't carry your team, it means you are average among your peers, and it means you are at your well deserved rank.

Seriously, I've "reset" the ELO of MANY MANY friends who asked me "oh please can you get me out of elo hell, then I would be able to climb again".

I sat in front of their computer (or duoed with a low account of mine). Played maybe 10-20 games with them. Had a 80-90% winrate while doing this. They were happy I helped them climb something like 2 or 3 divisions, even a whole tier for some. And I was like "dude you see there's no elo hell, gl now".

Guess what ? When they were left on their own again, ELO hell magically came back ... It was following them :o :o :o, scary no ? Not only they stopped climbing, but they started losing more than they win, which mean they were on their way to their former elo. So it's either a curse following them, or that elo hell is simply how we call the elo we reach when we stop improving.

Start improving again, and you'll climb.

(Oh and before you tell me "it's because it's easier to climb while duoing", while its probably true when you have a good synergy with your mate, i suck at duoing, and most of the time I have a lower winrate when i'm duoing with someone than when i'm sitting myself in front of his computer to show him how he should play to crush a game).
