Current Ahri, my complaints, and any potential hope.

I'm gonna try and sound as biased as possible, especially since this is my first board post.

Ahri in 3.13 had a major kit re adjust. This was the change that made her charm deal the 20% inc magic damage from ahri (including true damage of Q of course)

From what i believed all the way back then, this was because her damage and mobility were too high, without needing charm (which kinda thematically didn't make sense, also didn't help that DFG killed things faster with you). To change this they moved a bunch of her numbers around (by numbers I really mean from Foxfire), overall nerfing her damage and increasing her reliability on landing charm (Which received a flat mana cost vs scaling), but with the new reward of actually landing charm returned that damage back and more. That excited me as a main.

We are now at 5.2 and the DFG removal has come. Ok cool, DFG is gone, which means I need to land more poke before charm all in right? No the 20% damage INC is gone, but that's ok because the numbers are back up right

No. Well yes and no. To give us a little power back with a damage increase on Foxfire (50/80/110/140/170 from 40/65/90/115/140,) and a large scaling boost on charm as well as later game flat damage. Here's the thing though W still doesn't do close to what it was before 3.13 and since charm costs 85 flat still, early game its not as worth shooting out just to chance at missing it.

Although this is really just a rant, I do have some rebalance ideas...(that will probably just be me wanting more out of current ahri)

W - Either a change back to the 50% from 30% on additional Foxfires, or work with the flat numbers a little more

E - Scaling mana, so that early charm isn't as mana punishing.

Let the summoner 11 ing begin.

Sounds good. While I am enjoying top Ahri a lot, I do admit that her early damage is lackluster as fuck, and unless if I can get really fed, her late game damage also is pretty bad compared to other mages.

I was juggling with the thought of Top Ahri, but what are we going for in terms of build, Roa, Lichbane/nashors? or the morellos hat into tank kind of deal?

Honestly, I am still trying different builds on her. Only played her 3 games so far in the top lane, but those are the 3 I have done thus far. I think going Rod of Ages is much better than Morello's, now. Also, getting Liandry's as a first or second item makes her early game damage pretty damn good. Rylai's gives good kiting of opponents. The Rabadons just lets her continue doing her damage unabated; kinda necessary IMO. I think Zhonya's is a situational pick-up only if you are vsing someone like Zed.

I want to try Lichbane, but I haven't yet. Still practicing different ideas and builds.

To me her early damage seems stronger probably because she has the Q movement speed that seems Flat across all levels and is like 40% or 30% movement boost?

I actually Like this Ahri, don't get me wrong the previous are was also great but in 5.2 Her Q gets a movement boost and she doesn't have to land charm for extra damage anymore since w, and e are a bit stronger. The movement speed really helps against dodging abilities I kinda like it but I'm no where near expert level on these sorts of things

I'm sure her damage is lower, but then she's got the MS boost on Q - and doesn't it fit that Ahri is about mobility and dodging and not necessarily DPS?

The Foxfire buff also makes her damage more consistent while she's dodging, since it's higher and not dependent on the Charm amplification (which I often recommend holding off until you've dodged so much with R (and now Q), and put your opponent into a position in which they cannot dodge).
