If you queue support, pick a support

I main support. It's what I seem to play the best, but it also seems to be the best way to avoid wasting time. You can look up my profile, I rarely deviate from the position, but I do enjoy playing something else from time to time for a change...which then just makes me not want to do anything BUT support for the indefinite future.

Playing anything else leaves that support queue slot open. Sometimes I'll get someone like me, who wants to play (or is willing) to play the role that they queued for. But all too often I'm stuck with a Brand that didn't want to wait for the Mid queue time and "supported" instead. Let's face it, when we play a match and end up with a Brand, Teemo or Ziggs support, we know how it will end.

No sightstone because they are building AP, Ignite vs non-healers, it is nothing aside from pointless. Some people can play 5+ matches a day so can waste a few doing this, but for others we only get 1-2 matches a day so having one spent like this really does suck (not in a "u mad" way but legitimate I would like to play a computer game for fun way).

Can we limit the heroes/champs eligible for certain queue slots at low elo levels? Yes at high/organised level this will not work since there is some level of counter-picking/swapping but at bronze/silver where I play it doesn't exist.

Please consider this.

I challenge your "limited supports" with my 100% winrate sup ap vayne. This was a joke game with people who were fine with it fyi, I would never do this without a full teams permission. It was right after the updated fqc when everyone bought that item as sup, regardless of their normal good support item. So I decided to take it a step further and build it on all my "supports".

Hey, if it makes you feel better I do main support and I did build a sightstone after my frost queens hahaha.

Karma, brand, Annie, velkoz, xerath, etc.. Are all viable supports if played well. They should not limit what champs can be played in what role

I'll agree with you on the Ziggs and Teemo, but support Brand is a completely viable pick. In fact, support Brand can often not only carry games by himself, but end up having the most damage on the team. If your support Brand is successfully getting kills, roaming, and building AP, don't get angry. Just be thankful that he's putting his damage and abilities to good use. It's a very valid strategy; the same goes for support Annie, Zyra, Karma, and sometimes even Lux.

Just because a lot of support champions are made for the one role (Bard, Thresh, Alistar, Blitzcrank*, Soraka, Sona, Janna, etc.) does not mean AP supports are not allowed to build AP. Should they be warding as well? Yes, they should, and sometimes they don't (especially at low elo), but hey, that's the nature of the game sometimes.

The decision on what champion a summoner is going to use IS playing a game. Making that decision is for each player to do, and not someone else.

@OP

Your posts are... Silly. You claim to be a support main, but you seem to be employing the no true scotsman fallacy to excuse your dismissal and toxicity towards non-traditional supports.

You realize that you only need two things to BE a support, right?

  1. A sightstone
  2. Some kind of CC that works well with your ADC.

Also, traditional supports generally lack waveclear. Which is very important. like... super important. its one of the things that can make or break a game depending on if youre the only one around and need to clear a wave. So long as you have a sightstone and are warding, theres no reason not to call yourself a support. Kills are kills and go to whoever; theyre all good for the team and sharing kills is a VERY good thing because the more kills you get, the less gold you get. same with assists. splitting it up resets the gold amounts and more equally distributes the gold.

A lot of "Support mains" and "ADC mains" have this odd thought that supports dont need gold... fact of the matter is supports use gold the best because riots way of balancing them is to give them a massive reliance on scaling and low bases. And... to be perfectly honest, id rather have a fed brand support and a butthurt vayne afk farming top. chances are the brand will be more useful than the vayne who couldnt be bothered to last hit despite having what amounted to an open lane because the brand kept the enemy laners OUT of lane.

I would play support but if I queue as jungle/support I am support only, so I'd rather take my chances top or mid once in a while rather than become support only.

The way I see it, just roll with it. Unless your support is Trundle, in which case all they're doing is literally TROLLING you. (I'm not kidding, their mission is nothing but that, even when playing Ranked).
