Rank in League Actually Sucks

To be honest I was annoyed that I got sliver 3, especially when I was a whole rank up last season at gold 3. I won 8/10 of my placements and as a support main my KDA's were very good in rank queue, with a average of 4.2 you can imagine my disappointment in the ranking system.

-I didn't feed hard -I had a good amount of assist -Majority of the time I did above average damage

Even when I checked my KDA's I was shocked that majority of games I was in the green. There of course were like 3 games where people were trolling and made it hard to hit green on KDA. I didn't even get back in gold. I honestly don't even want to try to get all the way to gold again.

It took me months to get to gold 3 last season and it just feels like it dose not even matter. I think this was the first time i took rank seriously, it just feels like a smack in the face.

I believe most players feel the same since I've discussed with so many of friends and random people about it. I think it should be fixed and should help those that are lower in the ranks to want to do and be higher. Instead it just makes people wanna leave and not participate.

I would just say make rank more rewarding. Right now it just feels like a lot of work with no output.

I mean your MMR is going to start higher than last season because you went 8/10 placements. So if you go 50/50 here for the next 100 games your rank will be back to g3/g2. if you go like 55/45 w/l you will be like g2/g1. Not sure what the problem is? Maybe you don't know about hidden MMR vs visible rank?

I stated it. Its the fact I already worked hard to get to g3 after a whole season and I am literally back where I was at 2 years ago. I have to work my way to gold again which might not even happen if I lose a lot this season. Hopefully the MMR dose help because I dont wanna be stuck in sliver again.

Yeah. So the answer is you don't understand the hidden MMR system vs visible rank. You are actually higher MMR right now than you were last season based on placements 8/10. RIOT has a hidden MMR system that is your actual "rank" and the visible rank is just an illusion, usually under-representing someone's actual rank. The reason for this is so that players who go 50/50 all season, see their rank slowly progress upwards. Its a gimmick system to keep players addicted.

Your not wrong. That said I Do like it far more then Blizzards Gimmick of using fake MMR numbers to accomplish the exact same Rank rate of change illusion.

Riots also got a stupidly large demotion protection in place to protect peoples feelings from dropping a Rank colour. Div 4 will have pools of players playing below their ranks.

My rule of thumb. Don't trust any accounts rank with under 80 games to be accurate, and don't trust any player with over 700 games claiming they deserve higher Ranks to be accurate.
