Dunno what you mean by thread minions, but I am pretty solid at landing hooks between the gap in waves, and timing minion deaths to hook behind minions right after they die. Especially in my crap elo I can usually hit the adc while they are farming behind dying creeps cause they don't expect the hook timing when a minion dies ;P
