Autofill next season?

I'm curious if auto fill will be the same or changed for next season? It's to my understanding that auto fill was created solely for higher elo games, because the population is lower and people wouldn't play support or other roles. But, it created a worse problem in bronze-gold elo. People will get autofilled into support and beg for another lane and usually get flamed in pregame cause this game's toxic, lul. My point being is, I'm not even an adc main but I've been playing a lot of adc lately and it came to my attention bronze-gold players auto fill and lock the dumbest supports and take ignite and build damage with no sight stone or wards. I'm well aware it's a game, and players can play it how ever they want. But, in ranked it takes away from the competition aspect when one team gets a lee sin auto fill support, and the other team has a taric/thresh support player. Any way, my question is, is anything being done with the auto fill feature in the coming season? :) Thank you.

Lol, no. Auto fill wasn't just created for hight elo games. Its here to stay

It was. But riots pretty retarded and screwed up their entire matchmaking when they implemented dynamic que along with new champ select.

What screwed up matchmaking was the naive implementation of Fill/Secondary Support in Season 6 (aka: no Autofill).

Before Season 6 people would commonly queue up and have support as their second or third preference pick. Season 6 came, and suddenly even hinting you'd be open to playing Support meant you were now a Support Main. People left the role in droves because of that change, and even though Riot has done a lot to try and make the system less punishing the player base hasn't recovered.

Autofill attempts to solve the problem by adding more Supports to the pool, which makes it so secondary Supports don't have to Support every single game. In the long run this will help fix the Season 6 mistake, but it might take until season 8 or 9 for that to happen.

The system in general is bad. Matchmaking use to actually be close but having a select two roles with autofill makes it so that you get wonky ass games. Ive been playing since season 2 and ive never had plat players in silver games (that dont have bad mmr) and stuff like that till season 5? 6? whenever they changed this shit. Game gets worse every single year which is why I quit for the longest time lul.

Well if you don't read patch notes please don't flame my thread :l It clearly stated it was implemented to shorten queue times for diamond-challenger players because they had a lack of roles. Which is why after this shit show of this season, I think autofill should only effect that diamond-challenger elo. We all know bronze-silver is the sole toxicity of league, and when a bronze/silver get autofilled support they troll and pick whoever they want with ignite and with no intention to actually "support" the adc. Why I'm stating my opinion that I believe autofill has made the game even more toxic/worse for lower elo players while it did succeed in it's true nature of lower queue times for higher elo players. Hense I believe it should be eliminated until a player reaches diamond+.

Auto fill isn't going amywhere man. Probbaly ahould learn to deal with it
