What is the deal with AI controlled players?

We have all been there, someone calls mid, everyone is fine with it then you get a (probably ezreal) bot run down mid and sit there waiting for minions. It tilts everyone most of the time, ruins the experience for the person that called mid and everyone else.

So questions i have

1 Should I report these players? 2 What box do I tick? Cheating? 3 Are some of these bots created by Riot? (No not the ones your supposed to be killing :3) 4 Does reporting them do anything in the first place?

Im asking because i play bots a lot so i dont have to dread playing a normal game just because of the toxicity.

They're made by people selling level 30 accounts. Just tick cheating I believe and write in that they're a bot to help. The problem is that they're is so many of them that some do get through. But reporting them helps.

They aren't bots. This is a myth. However, if you truly feel that they are, then report them for cheating. Riot will review and see that they aren't botting and problem solved (and on the off chance that someone is botting in a way that isn't beneficial to them riot will ban them for 3rd party programs)

In reality, these are either tilted or unskilled players who are either feeding on purpose or simply too uncomfortable to deal wioth the toxic communication they are receiving so they just don't communicate.

I have seen this many times and helped many a player in a positive manner to get over the humps that are preventing them from succeeding and after speaking with them and hearing their questions it is clear that none so far have been bots despite this myth of a botting problem in league and our team berating them and calling them bots.

To put it simply, if they are not winning, then they are probably not botting. If you have AI controlling your champ then then you should dodge EVERY skillshot and land many skillshots. You should be able to take calculated trades every time and win every trade.

I am aware some people are like this, (and good for you for helping them out) but theres a specific pattern to bot play (at least in Oceania if it makes a difference)

A year or two ago it was a really serious problem - but fortunately most of the bots would only play Dominion or Twisted Treeline for whatever reason.
