A realistic, simple way to balance Aram

Salty Kappacino··5 votes·1,298 views

Aram has been known for its "owning" enemy team comps leading to direct and easy victories, aram could use some balancing. Riot implemented a system in featured game mode "Ascension" that every player gets the same amount of gold, this caused more "close" games and possible comebacks. Riot should consider implementing this into aram, this would give teams that have a bad team comp to have a chance late game.

Hmmmmm...I play almost exclusively ARAM and I've been a part of teams that have beaten supposedly OP comps with skill. Randomness is one of the main themes of the game. But I like where you are headed with your thinking. Let's face it, the odds of beating a team with Sona, Ziggs, MF, Karthus and Hecarim is quite difficult no matter how good the players are on your team. But if we balance ARAM then I would also like to see it available for ranked play. I'm torn between yeah, let's go for some balance / If it ain't broke don't fix it. Cause I love my ARAM right now. If anything, IP farming Bots are the worst problem!

My issue is in the aram accounts now. People make accounts specifically for aram and buy the few champs that stomp. It's not really random anymore

Ya I see it quite a bit, thats why I vote for the ban system. Ban out the god tier and odds are they will end up with a free week champ. At the very least, it would increase the chance they dont get one of the god tiers and get stuck with a free week champ. At least its easy to spot them when you check their game history, and you find nothing but god tier aram champs played.

Of course the easiest solution to stop this problem would be unlock all champs for ARAM, and that way no one can make an ARAM account, but i doubt Riot would do something like that, because it makes sense.

Why dont they just unlock all champs for ARAM...?

Alternately; ban out the free week champs and suddenly it's way more likely you get the ARAM gods. All unlocked is really the only way to go.

I would rather just have some bans for each team. I have played nothing but ARAM for like 3 or 4 years now, and I know what your talking about, but I would rather just have two modes, one with bans, one without bans.

It seems like a nice idea, but I'm slightly against it. The main reason why I'm against the the static gold inflow is that I've played in and against teamcomps where one team can EASILY dominate early, but as soon as the other side gets the items to outtank their damage, then its over. The real thing keeping the other team down is the lack of gold to be able to actually go in and finish them off, so allowing everyone to have equal gold will somewhat kill this scenario. ARAM is also all about its randomness, so a better solution to me would be that all the champions are unlocked instead. This would destroy ARAM accounts and alleviate that frustrations. You can just let their rr count be contributed from the number of champions they actually own. I feel there's no real way to balance ARAM as champions with poking capabilities will always have an inherent advantage. I guess another solution could be to ban the OP pokers, but then it would just make it so fat tanks can dominate then I feel.

How can we possibly balance aram around peoples performances when most aram players suck either intentionally or unintentionally

I mean omfg try playing a tank on aram. I sometimes listen to "1 is the loneliest number" and grab a snack cuz I know i'll never matter to my team no matter how much they need me. And don't dare recommend any form of teamwork or you'll be branded a "tryhard" and ostracized from the team unit as a troublemaking whiner for even saying so much as "let me initiate" as nautilus
