Let's talk about Camille

Let's talk about Camille.

I am well aware that fairly little time has passed since the release of Camille on the live servers, but I feel I've gathered enough information playing her and theorizing to make an informed statement. I don't like the terms "broken" or "overpowered" because it always raises the question "What warrants use of that strong of a noun? Are you salty, or is there actually something that's rather not OK?", which probably sounds silly to some people but that's the way it goes. I tend to look at things fairly linearly, in a gradient from "weak" to "strong" in the current META, keeping personal opinions out of the picture. As such, I have thought about what might make this champion rewarding and fun without breaking things in any applicable ELO.

All of my suggestions which I'm not quite sure on are followed by "(?)".
   Here are my suggestions:

==Q Increase the cooldown significantly. Keep the damage as it is. Perhaps increase the bonus movement by a bit. (?) Allow basic attacks to lower the cooldown of it by a small portion, creating rewarding synergy on landing the E due to the attack speed steroid.

==W No change. (?)

==E Remove the stun. She already has decent, while not crippling, crowd control on her W. Replace the stun with a slight displacement like you would find in Vi's Q. Keep the attack speed steroid. The Q change relies on the reward for landing the E. Lower the damage. (?)

==R No change. (It's a single target glass-cannon-esque ability dealing damage based on current health rather than maximum health.)

It was fun to think about this, and I look forward to seeing the community's thoughts on these. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Edit: Let me clarify the purpose of this post a bit: Do you think she's too strong at the moment? If so, what changes in her kit do you think could change this? If not, what are your general thoughts on the champion? This isn't intended to be a "This stuff is overpowered!!1!" post, rather a "Let's talk about Camille" post.

People who complain about how hard she is to learn:

  1. Can't AA cancel
  2. Can't press E
  3. Can't time ult or make good decisions with it's use

SHE'S SIMPLE GUYS

I would agree, I do find her fairly simple to pick up.

I like her Q the way it is, its not that bad except it does way too much damage early game. Riot was in the right direction with the early game damage it does in the hotfix, but they need to go a bit more extreme, perhaps make rank 1 almost as weak as the first hit, but at around rank 3 or 4 it hits like it normally does now at those ranks. Removing the movement speed might be needed later on but its mainly the damage it gets off on champions and towers early game that's stupid high.

E needs a cooldown nerf. The stun is fine as it makes some good outplays if you can properly time it to cancel or prevent certain attacks. For example, without the stun she might as well be afk in the fountain vs. pantheon and jax, the stun at least lets her have a few hits in to maybe turn the fight around. The only issue with her E is its up constantly making her incredibly too safe to play, its one thing to have a really big escape / chase tool, but to have one that often is ridiculous. Elise's rappel is strong but it has a significant cooldown so you can't get away as mindlessly after diving somebody.

R needs nerfed big time, but the problem is how. I truely think they did another kindred ultimate here... they can't balance the purpose of this ult, its just way too strong. Camille is a strong 1v1 champion, and she forces 1v1s. They need to chip this part of her some how either by removing the knock back so big minion waves aren't as unpunishable, and in teamfights she's not freely taking out a target while others try to get back in and peel, or give it a cooldown as big as nocturne's ult.

W I got nothing to say. I actually find this ability weak as it doesn't heal THAT much, and the damage isn't that noticable, but I do think it would be way too strong if it was tuned anymore though.

Mfw People wanting to nerf a champion with 45% winrate currently just because they got trashed by her ingame one time.

whenever a new champ comes out I spam the hell out of that champion. Why? So I can LEARN what she is capable and not capable of when I play against her. And after playing her a significant amount of times I realize how sever her weakneses are.

Protip: pick Teemo or Swain she is literally beyond useless if either one of these champs are in game on enemy team, god forbid if both are in game on enemy team.

I've done the same thing! I agree completely, but I don't think this is okay. http://prntscr.com/djmilq This was my op.gg a couple days ago. I'm not saying I think she's crazy, it's just that she's new and I have reservations on her current kit.

She feels so annoying to lane against. Basically if you can fight her you win lane, but if you cant you lose. She forces fights to happen and no matter how safe you play, her gapcloser+stun is going to get you. And later on her ult can just straight up force you to fight her. Her ult isn't fun to play against, but what really grinds my gears is how it also gives invulnerability. When people learn how to play Camille, that shits gonna get crazy. She is already super tanky, why give her the ability to negate one of my key spells?
