100% cdr urf
Ok with the new runes taking cosmic insight and ultimate hunter could you get 100% cdr on you ultimate in urf or would it not work that way?

level 6 khartus, level 6 soraka,level 6 any global champion ultimate. also vladimir are the reason why this will never works, it is multiplicative, 0.2*0.85 = 0.17 meaning an effective 83%cdr
See this is why I was asking because a 100% cooldown
would be nigh immortal.
A lot of champions would be broken. That's why CDR is capped instead of just scaling to 100%.
Even at URF's cap of 80% Zilean is just too dang broken so he doesn't get the CDR.
CDR is additive though. Getting 40% means you actually remove 40% of the cooldown.
Anivia's a good example. Her Q at rank 1 is 10s. Go into the practice tool, put a single point in it, and then buy CDR 10% at a time. It'll remove 1s per 10%, not less and less each time.
Pure CDR is additive. Ultimate Hunter is not the CDR stat, but rather a multiplier put on the post-CDR cooldown. That means the cooldown is multiplied by both 100% - CDR and 100% - ultimate hunter, rather than one 100% being reduced by both CDR and ultimate hunter. Math in case it makes more sense:
cooldown_final = cooldown_base*(100% - %CDR)*(100%-%CDR_Ultimate_Hunter)
so with 40% CDR and 15% Ultimate Hunter:
cooldown_final = cooldown_base*(100% - 40%)(100% - 15%) = cooldown_base60%85% = cooldown_base51% ------> {since 60% = 0.6, 85% = 0.85, 0.6*0.85 = 0.51 = 51%}
With 80% CDR, that'd be 20%*85% = 17%
so for instance a 100s cooldown would be 1000.17 = 17s, NOT 100-(1000.15)-(100*0.8) = 100-15-80 = -5s
Huh, didn't know UH was multiplicative. I guess that's what the "0.2*0.85 = 0.17" meant.
...this just makes me pissed off at Riot for being inconsistent.
The deal is because Hunter reduces the BASE CD, and isn't actual CD reduction. Cosmic Insight gives 5% CDR if you look in your stat window but UH doesn't
Oh, I understand the mechanics. I just find the distinction between "Reduces the cooldown [...] by 5%" and "5% cooldown reduction" to be incredibly minimal and more of a technicality than a clear indicator that it's a different mechanic.
(Also Hunter doesn't reduce the base CD, regular CDR does that, but I know what you meant)

I see some problems.
You forget
,
,
, and
Karthus would never get to ult unless there’s a Kayle and Morgana
False. Passive.
Standing in fountain all game ulting every 5s would quickly emerge as a dominant strategy.
Cant get cdr in urf. theyll switch it out
Your CDR will be capped at 80 either way. Not sure about ultimate hunter but I feel like it would be negated or changed depending.
It's a different stat, and it's multiplicative with CDR. So if you reduced your normal CDR by 80%, it would be 20% of its original, right? So rather than reducing your normal CDR by both, you reduce it by 80%, then reduce the new cooldown by 15% of the new cooldown (not of the original).
cosmic insight and ultimate hunter are swapped out for different runes in URF, like if you take manaflow band on a resourceless champion or aftershock on garen. transcendence gives you the CDR refund into raw stats though.
URF deathmatch has some problematic bugs
Cosmic insight, ultimate hunter, and blue buff all work in it
It doesn't reduce active item cooldowns

Blue buff was hotfixed so you cant get 95%, same thing with Cosmic Insight I think. I guess Ultimate Hunter would work in it then.
