4K in League of Legends, why it affects you and I

So, let me start this off by saying I want a real discussion about this, you know? This is kind of important and if people do wish to participate that's good and fine but telling people to 'buy another monitor' or 'hehe xD you bought 4k?' doesn't help or further discussion in any meaningful way. (Kinda trailed a bit there but you know what I mean.)

The title may seem misleading but it's really not. 4K may not be in the majority but there is more people getting it every day. The last known talk of 4K with Riot was three years ago when people kind of gathered up and harassed them. Now, this isn't a thread to 'attack the devs' but more of a discussion to get their attention.

I guess now that's all out of the way, let me 'finally' go into the reason why it does affect you and why you should honestly care.

First off, even the worst person on your team, the flamer, the guy who screams at people during a normal's game when you're trying out a new role or champion. Even THIS person wants you do to well and how do you do well in League? Well, let's go over a couple of things. (Keeping it relevant)

Map Awareness -

Simply, the map size in 4K is so small that if you're pinging and crying for help on bot jungle side, I literally need to hope, pray and squint as hard as I can to make sure I see it.

Communication with your team- "Hey guys, this version of our team fight isn't working, perhaps our 2/9/4 Zed should probably go in after our Malphite has initiated the team fight."

Cursor-

..Might sound weird but a decently sized cursor is pretty important for people who don't like to play the "WHERE THE **** IS MY MOUSE" minigame in a team fight.

Now, it may sound stupid at first but really give me a chance here, think about what I'm saying. These are all features we people in 4K struggle with now and honestly, it's kind of heart breaking. I choose those words exactly because I do love this game, despite how toxic it can be because of some bad eggs at times. I do genuinely love League of Legends.

The map is so tiny in comparison to what you would have if you were running 1080p.

The cursor is at the -bare- minimum when set to max. Like, you can see it, sure but you can easily lose it in a second and that's really messed up in a team fight.

Now, sure, communication you don't 100% need in order to win.. However.. I strongly believe that if you have a good team of players who aren't flaming each other, working together, talking, calling out ults, summoner CD's vs a team who isn't communicating at all but are playing okay.

I strongly believe the former defeats the latter.

But.. let's walk this back a bit.. Okay? How about just.. having fun with other players in general? Guys, I feel isolated with this chat being so small. I really do have a rough time reading it and the photo above doesn't even do it justice since it's magnified. Apart of the reason why I love this game so much is talking to everyone, especially in All chat. I don't do it to flame, I do it to talk to other players. I like making others laugh and if you see me in a game in the future, you'll see that I just wanna have fun and let others around me have fun too.

I haven't been vocal about this for awhile for a couple of reasons.

First off, I always thought Riot would sort of fix it at some point, you know? But I'm kind of feeling let down.

Secondly, I did have a work around but at some point I started to worry about what I was doing, thinking maybe Riot would shut down my account for it and so I asked customer support. I didn't use any third party app but I -DID- have a work around. I don't wanna say here because I'm not sure if Riot would be happy with that. Customer Support did get back to me and they said that messing with -ANY- files of League of Legends, even if it's just fixing the map, cursor and chat box is a bannable offense.

Now, while there are people who literally shit on Riot every single day for no reason.. there are 100% people who try and white knight them over -everything- And at this point.. Riot doesn't have much of an excuse as to why they can't up the values, especially when doing so on my end was -very- easily done.

Your opinion will always be your own and I cannot tell you to change that based off of what I said here but I do ask that you try to understand where some of us are coming from when we ask for 4K support. It's not just for us, it's for you as well so we can be better team mates and even converse with you.
