What does mastery score do?

Im still confused about why we have a mastery score. Does it give you a prize when you reach a certain score? They didn't say it that specifically .

If you count a mastery emote and login screen boarder as a prize then sure. Otherwise it is just an indicator of how much time youve put into playing a champion, and possibly a way to confuse some people into thinking it represents how good you are at playing said champion.

You mean the total? Nothing. I have a really high score because I play champs to get chests or ARAM so it gets bumped up. I'm useless with about 75% of the champs I play, even ones with level 5.

you win an emote for getting mastery levels 4,5,6, and 7. BUT PLEASE DONT BE CONFUSED MASTERY =/= SKILL

cant tell you how many times people think theyre amazing with someone because they got lucky a few times. but it does indicate how much time and effort you put into that champ

It gives you bragging rights. And spamming the emotes can sometimes tilt your enemy so thats a plus.

Nothing.

Just now many different champs you have played.

If you're talking about mastery points on a champ, then it would be how many times you clicked the Play button and finished a game with that same champ.

You get the badges for level 4,5,6, and 7

Riot said they plan to do special things with mastery points in the future but right now it's pointless and hidden on player profiles.

Its a little weird as I have never obtained any of the rewards you get from mastery scores. Got a few level 5 champions and a mastery of 126 yet never have any of the rewards so idk.
