So I just finished my placements on a FRESH account.

Went 7W3L, carried/semi carried all the wins, the losses were just unfortunate due to lack of teamwork and communication and my own shitty mistakes in a lot of cases.

After winning the 9th of the 10 placements, I checked my solo MMR and it showed "1660. You are likely to be placed in Gold 2. Good luck." Finish the 10th game, a complete stomp we fcked the enemy team repeatedly and finished in 23 mins.

Silver 1. SILVER 1. I check my Solo MMR, it's instantly dropped from 1660 to 1440 after a WIN?

Think meh, guess I'll start my climb from Silver 1 instead of mid Gold. Thanks riot. Load into my next game. Pretty much everyone is Gold 5+, we get fcked and end up 5 sitting in base and letting them finish in 18 mins.

Thoroughly fed up and done feeding all my time and energy into a game that seemingly doesn't want to reward me in the slightest for the good I do, but punishes me for no apparent reason.

It's been fun, League, but I reckon it's time to go back to hardcore raiding on wow - at least that way I'm rewarded appropriately for the time effort energy and positivity I put in.

If anyone else has had similar experiences with botched placement games I'd be fascinated to hear.

Not sure if wrong board don't use NA forums.

MMR is a hidden stat.

Any site that tells you what yours is is guessing.

It is an educated guess. It gets everyone else's about 1 division lower or higher than what they are. Not a whole league. Don't reply if all you have to offer is this bullshit, cop-out response. Genuine insight only is welcome. No more trash excuses.

Fresh 30's rarely ever get put into Gold.

My account on OP.GG said I had gold 2 MMR when I was in Plat 5 even though i was 83-62 and gaining 27 LP a win.

I understand the game is frustrating but not every game is winnable. You can't have a 100 percent w/r. It is impossible. Even pros in Silver can't do it.

You need to understand some games can't be won and move on to the next game. Analyze the mistakes you made in that game and carry it to your next one

I think that because out of a sample size of 50 players (5 players x 10 games) I beat 35 gold 5+ players. That's 70%. All 7 wins were in a row. The probability of me doing this is 0.78%. Therefore I think I deserve better than shite Silver 1.

That means you also lost 3 in a row. Streaks affect your MMR a lot. You would have a higher MMR if those 3 losses were spread out instead of backtobacktoback.

With that said, Riot intentionally places you lower at the beginning of the season every season to promote people to play ranked.

Even Challenger players start the season at Plat 1

I'm clearly very frustrated at the complete lack of logic Riot display in their placement system. This frustration is then magnified when I'm met with "hur hur opgg isnt accurate it's a guess".

Providing me with information that isn't fairly presented, and is something I already know, when I am already tilted, is not useful and seems provocative.

I think that the system is way too forgiving actually. You realize that pretty much any newbie that had a lucky win streak could end up high silver? or even in low Gold?

And since it is so hard to drop from G5 to silver and from S5 to bronze, Silver is literally filled with bronze noobs that just had a lucky win streak and got placed higher than they deserved.

Meanwhile, a long term casual gamer like me that never bothered to play ranks, whenever i try to climb in Silver, games are filled with feeders everywhere. Bronze 1-2 players are probably more talented than the average silver and gold-5 playerbase. It's ridiculous.

I only did placements in 2017, and this season my placements put my in Bronze 3, it was such a breeze to climb bronze, had easily 80+ winrate, and as soon as i hit silver, FEEDERS EVERYWHERE!
