I need a new mage to play for mid lane and I'm deciding between
Ahri or 
Orianna, I'm ok with skillshots I guess but I'm looking with someone that has good gameplay overall, please gimme some good reasons and thoughts on those two champions!! THANKS!!!
Orianna is harder to play overall. Orianna can single-handedly win team fights if you can land shockwaves at clutch moments, but does not do as much damage as Ahri.
Ahri is better at laning, and roaming, while Orianna is better at team fighting and utility. I personally find Ahri's playstyle to be boring and generic for a mage but that's just me.

If you are rather inexperienced at midlane I'd suggest Ahri. Ahri's kit is very forgiving and even if you messed up your positioning or missed a skillshot it doesn't really matter that much. But Ori is the overall better champion right now. If you can play her well its much more effective than ahri.
Ahri is more of a generalist mage while Orianna is more utility.
Ahri also just got nerfed and we don't know if she'll get another one.
Ahri won't carry games by herself like ori can. You have a better chance of people rq because you get ahead on ahri early and before she falls off unlike ori who is considered a late game hyper carry if you play her properly.
