reshuffling talons skills: counterplay with silence

Talon has seen a lot of discussion recently with the biggest issue being unable to react to his burst rotation. Thats pretty much the definition of no counter-play for sure. At the same time his E seems to be in a pretty bad/awkward place at the moment

The idea is pretty simple and may have been discussed already. Keep the empowered AA on **Q ** and add the silence (duration TBD) . Keep the damage amplification on and relocate the Q DOT to **E ** and cause it to place him 150 range from enemy (range TBD).

The idea being that by placing him just outside of AA range and putting silence onto Q there is a period were players can outplay his silence without it having to be removed from his kit.

thing is, the silence was the worst part. if im any equally fed ad or ap vs pre nerf talon, talon always had the upper hand. come late game with his great damage, there was no counterplay.. you either got 1 shot or lost more than half your hp with his e q.

also ive been playing vs many talons atm and they all seem to be doing pretty good. i think you just need to get used to him without a silence and you will be set. hes still a good champ just not as strong as before.

[EDIT] I do agree that he was pretty toxic when he had silence but I think that was as much due to the range of E and its instant nature as it was the actual silence component

I guess I feel like silence was a core part of his identity; I'm not suggesting it be as offensive as it was. A reduction in the duration of the **Q **empowerment and/or increase in CD to force more strategic use could could work?

it would need to be shorter than it was (.5/.75) to be used more like an interrupt with more defensive capabilities. Countering ganks/dives and preventing un-counterable escapes from champions with double disengages.

I want to be able to provide talon with a small degree of protection from instaburst by ranged squishes/damage mitigation by assasins (fizz/zed) while still allowing counter-play against him.

It would also spread out some of his damage rather than overloading Q.

holy shit!!!!!!!

get the fuck out that is the worst nerf suggested to Talon yet

Edit: I should explain myself:

Half of Talon's damage comes from AA-Q in a combo.

By placing him outside of AA range you aren't allowing Talon to AA, meaning he lost 20% of his total combo damage.

He's not going to kill anyone if he fails to do AA-Q, which your version disallow precisely that.

targeted Silences/hard CC on assassins is a terrible idea.
