AP/MR item for long range casters.

Now that Riot changed the aegis of the legion item, I feel that Long range casters such as Xerath, Lux, or Ziggs need some sort of AP/MR Item, seeing as they generally don't benefit well from Abyssal Rod's aura, and the only other item that has AP and MR on it is Chalice now... which was repurposed into an support item a while back, though Lux could get some use off it, it has an abysmal amount of mr and ability power. The main issue is though that if such an item was added it would probably be abused by people who already build Abyssal, they would be able to have that much more MR. Thoughts?

The point of long range characters is to poke and abuse from a distance, so you want to build full damage and poke/burst the enemy before they can get to you. If the enemy AP gets to you then they should be rewarded if they are a melee/assassin AP character the MR for these Mage Assassins might sound unfair but they have to get in to do damage, characters like Xerath, Lux, or Ziggs need to get by via position, landing skill shots, or from the support of teammates, it's the trade off for their range.

Yes but what then about all the Gap Closers that 90% of the shorter range champs have? A perfect example is Leblanc. Yeah I can stand back and throw abliities, but she can easily enter her range, from outside of my range, with just one w.
