Item questions.

I like to think every item in league has a specific purpose, but there are a few items that I just haven't been able to figure out where they fit in yet.

Sunfire Cape: I build it all the time and I know core for the tank line, but its passive seems more like an add on for a cool effect than something with actual purpose to me. Yeah I get it's good for roasting minions, to push lanes somewhat I've gathered, but is that really its purpose? It doesn't seem like it does much in team fights. I've considered that it might negate HP Regen, but does it really?

Wits End: I don't ever see this built and I only ever use it on Mundo for its MR and attack speed. So basic attacks do 42 damage? Whoop-de-do? What is the purpose of that?

Might add more if I think of them...

Thanks to all who lend me knowledge.

Sunfire cape does A LOT of damage. You just don't notice it because it ticks away every second, but it has a pretty high radius (400). It deals 25+lvl dmg which is basically a basic attack every 2 seconds, BUT you can keep moving while doing so. This makes chasing or running extremely efficient as you continue doing damage. During a teamfight, you will often be dealing this damage to multiple enemies. This is a great item on champions that don't already deal a lot of damage themselves (eg renekton doesn't really need this item, shen does) and like to be close to the enemy during fights.

Wits End is an item that has been unused for a very long time. Recently it sees play against thanks to Sated Devourer. Other than devourer+BotRK+wits end builds, I haven't really seen this item since season 3. It's not worth getting on Mundo. Your Auto attacks aren't the main source of damage. You should rely on cleavers and AOE damage from your ability and cinderhulk/sunfire cape. Auto attacking enemies will slow you down. You need to stick in their face to continue dealing damage. If you can afford to AA, it's a nice bonus, but you shouldn't rely on it for damage.
