  1. Dont gank when you dont know where the enemy jungler is and you+your laner would loose a countergank situation. (edit: of course only if you dont have backup from wards or anything, so you have to fear a countergank)

  2. Dont gank if it doesnt give you any benefits (summoners, kills and turrets are good). Only exception i could think of is if your laner has to deal with a freezed lane where he gets denied every farm, you can just help him break the freeze.

  3. Farm, farm and farm. Whenever you gank you loose xp and gold from not farming. Farming is super important and as important as kills when it comes to getting fed.

  4. learn to counterjungle. Good situations to counterjungle are when the enemy jungler is on the other side of the map and if you have some kind of backup from your lanes (its enough if your laner has pushed his lane so the enemy laner cant go for you). If you are fed you can search for the enemy jungler and kill him (you still need lanes that are able to follow if something goes wrong!)

  5. Play around objectives, especially early turrets are really good since they dont only offer gold, but your lanes can roam earlier. For example if you kill the enemy botlane and have minions, push the turret, even if its early in the game.

  6. When ganking, try to guess the outcome, then compare your guess to what actually happened.

  7. learn matchups, not only for laners but for junglers too. You want to know what enemies you can fight early on and what junglers you should avoid (and if you have to be careful with early invades)

  8. in loading screen, make your first plan for the game and think about the lane matchups (what lanes will push etc.) and the jungle matchup aswell.

  9. Watch out for oppurtunities for counterganks. If you think the enemy jungler is around for a gank, stay around aswell and try to countergank (only if you win a 2v2/3v3 of course)

  10. always try to figure out what the enemy jungler is doing, you can do this by warding, by counterjungling, by keeping track of his ganks and his buff timers.

  11. Dont tilt, as jungler its extremely important that you analyze your own plays and mistakes since pretty much everything comes down to decision making. If you tilt youre not learning.

eh illaoi to me is pretty easy to gank, as long as you avoid her ult. For rene i've never really had a problem with him lol

That's strange. Renekton is known for some crazy 2v1's early on. Then again, I'm only Silver II right now, so it might be different in your tier. Still, I would imagine you've seen it at least once...

Renekton is largely a single target bully.

Darius has incredibly good 1v2 potential since he has 24% missing hp heal potential.

I play a lot of jungle, but I'm Bronze so have no right to speak :/

You do have a "right" to speak any advice is good advice.

Just because you're "Bronze" doesn't mean that you're bad! Yes maybe you need to improve on things but bad I doubt it.

Think about Elo or where you are at right now as a team in the NBA.
You're on a bad "team" but you're a good player. You know?
However don't be toxic to people but that's how I view elo in solo Q.

mh, that´s gonna be a long one:

Situation 1: large minionwave pushing against your laners

  • it can be very usefull to just show up in lane and help them push out to relive the pressure and allow them a good window to recall, but you will give away information about your position
  • absolutly don´t go for kills in that situation, especially early on the minions will just slaughter you and even if the opponents missplay and you get a miracle kill you´ll lose a huge amount of cs for it most of the times

Situation2: opponent overextends

  • if your laner is healthy enough for eventual 2v2 go for it
  • if you would lose the 2v2 and you don´t know where the other jungler is: if you´re laner is not doing well just push the wave out with him so he can recall, if your laner is doing well then there´s surly sth more usefull you can do

Situation 3: your laner overextends

  • if you know where the opponent jungler is you can use this for a dive if you know you can pull it off
  • otherwise at least path near him and leave a ward by so the other jungler doesn´t get an easy kill there

General advice:

  • always be active, if you don´t know what to do farm camps...eventually that will add up to an xp/gold lead vs junglers that ponder too long
  • as a jungler you are responsible for vision, even more than the support this season
  • learn to read the other jungler and keep track on him
  • play around your strong lanes, don´t waste time with lanes that consistently are outpressured - most of the times attempts to "save" those just backfire
  • pinks wards are worth the 75g, even early on - with weak junglers they protect you from getting counterjungled and with stronger junglers you can set up early solodrakes or just some deep vision

It can also be very helpful in certain situations to just help a laner break a freeze by just walking to the lane allowing the laner to push the minions all the way to the turret resetting the lane (mostly for top lane as mid lane is so short and bot lane usually has higher range leaving them safer trying to CS despite the wave being in a bad spot)

do not gank when:

<> you are behind by a lot, AND the lane is ahead by a lot.

9 times out of 10 you're trying to force a "feed me" on that lane and you're going to bring on top of them whomever beat you in other lanes and screw their win.

I never gank. I only tax and proxy farm my teams lanes.

I'm trying to learn to jg too and this video REALLY helped me, just make sure to remember things that he says

But still, is there key points that I follow, I have few: 1. Never gank lost lane mostly those where enemy just snowballs, 2. keep track of enemy flashes and summoner spells, 3. Try to gank when enemy is pusshing. But I bet there is a lot better points that I dont know :/

Champion Skin1 votes

Keep an eye out for champions like Riven Leona and other champions who are likely to go all in... because if they do go all in they are often very vulnerable to a gank (though obviously it won't work if it is warded)

Smiting the raptor camp is amazing as you know that you aren't spotted until it triggers meaning you wont waste time sitting on a ward

the best time to gank is when you're playing as a support. as a jungler i usually just farm and ward. some people tell me im wrong. i tell those people "hey, do you main braum jungle? no? well alright then." people are so aggro, but they thank me when i save them from an ezreal ultimate at baron. sometimes people can really tilt me though and when that happens i nod to myself and go place my wards near another lane. that'll show them to appreciate me.

the best time to gank is like i said as a support. dont worry about ganking when you're jungler. that's sorakas job. what the heck is rengar going to do when he comes to your lane? still kills. and you dont want that adc. especially when you're 30 deaths in the hole because jungler forgot to ward.

III BAKURYU III 1 votes

Try not to gank when your teammate has like 10-20 minions under their tower as they will want to just cs under tower instead of possibly wasting their time to maybe kill the opponent. Unless the enemy doesn't have summoner 4 summoner 6 don't gank.

Try to gank in lane. It seems like ganking from river is the ganking method these days but you can go into the bushes at top and bot when the cs is pushed up to not be seen. Enemy players very rarely ward lane bushes mostly top but for the most part they only think about ganks from river.

TOP/MID/BOT focus ? ( I DON'T MEAN CAMP) MID to be honest while important and game changing I gank mid the least mainly because I just want my mid to just farm and not go for kills I also give my mid 1st blue 50% of the time but 2nd blue 100% of the time and I really just want them to cs and hold tower nothing more and nothing less. BOT I gank the most as Dragon is near and having a dead enemy bot lane and a possible 3(Top-Jng-mid enemy team) vs my bot lane/mid and me to contest dragon is very unlikley. Also helps when your adc is fed to boost their confidence.
TOP is very important mainly due to the players will NOT sacrifice themselves if their already 0-2 etc etc. A top player who gets help early and is say 2-0 will gladly die a couple of times to help the team as long as their not already in a huge hole.

Deep ward their jg and pay attention to their presence, reflect their presence by simultaneously ganking another lane or counter jungling. Also take the long way around to gank them so you aren't spotted by wards. Don't gank if you can't at least get a summoner spell out of them.

Watching Stonewall's vids will help. Otherwise, you'll learn all those things from trial and error.

What you're asking is the equivalent of what techniques you should be using in a fight, and when to use them.

Create a better jungle route think to yourself ok ill be level 3 if i clear my whole red jungle first then i can gank bot or mid depending on who pushed and who warded just think of a plan is all i can say and farm on ur way to lanes

Dracocrash1 votes

Dont gank lanes with big waves, or if they ask you not too.

Also never gank lanes with fed 1v5 champs like illaoi. Giving a double kill to theese kind of champs tends to seal the game.

I gank when I can get kills and don't gank when I can't get kills. It's really that simple.

So kha'zix main here, I love jungle and always looking for advice on improvement!

-So I know warding is super important to prevent ganks, and I always feel guilty if my team mates get gank, if possible can I get some advice on the best places to ward based on the situation? Also on some good places to put wards that let my lanes knows when the enemy jungler is potentially coming down to gank. I usually place them in the bushes closest to top and bot lane but sometimes I feel like it's not enough. :/ -Also what do I do as kha'zix when my laners are struggling early game, I feel like I can't do much early game, it feels even worse if a lane gets fed, especially when all this applies to bot lane since support is always near the adc so no isolation bonus for me. So uh yeah I mean hopefully all of this was all right, and I hope my questions weren't too stupid, I'm still pretty new to this game and I always want to improve and I feel the best way is to get answers from actual players since I feel like I can't only find the answers I want from guides, especially when it has to do with specifically certain champions like kha'zix.

-ward as deep as possible (depends on how the lanes are going and if you risk to get killed when going too deep). junglers most likely will not skip camps so often its enough to place a single ward on one camp to have a good idea about where the enemy jungler is. If your lanes are behind and you dont want to risk much, just ward the river or even your own jungle if the enemy jungler counterjungles you. If your lanes are ahead you can easily go for deeper wards since even if their laner+jungler collapse on you your laner can follow and kill them with you.

-one of khas benefits is that you're always useful, even when behind since you still have the potential to kill squshies fairly easy. When a lane is behind its most likely not worth to go for a gank on kha since you still want to snowball if possible, so going for easier ganks is the better choice most of the time. If all lanes are too far behind for you to do anything, you can just powerfarm and wait for teamfights with evolved e. Khas early ganks are really strong, u have a lot of dmg and chase potential with e (never blow e at the beginning if you dont absolutely have to, always wait for the enemy to blow his escape/flash etc. and follow with e afterwards)

  1. For your first gank, always ALWAYS be full health.

  2. Don't be persauded into ganking more than your champ can handle. 2 ganks before 6 is plenty for most situations.

  3. If a lane is doing very very bad, consider ganking more selfishly. If someone seems unskilled early on, they probably aren't going to suddenly carry. (Sometimes even keeping their death streak up can deny some gold and exp. Cruel, but it works.)

  4. Be cognizant of wards. Sometimes you can ignore the possibility, but be aware that in some situations they can lead to a tragic counter gank.

  5. Ganking a lane is almost always easiest with red buff.

  6. Always start refillable. If you're getting countered, upgrade to hunters potion. (There is some debate on this.)

  7. Look at your mana before a gank.

  8. Chicken buff is your friend.

Gank ONLY when a teammate needs it and they arent SUPER behind.

Also Only when you get power spikes. Me as a one trick rengar three notable ones are lvl 3, lvl 6, and when I get youmuus. A general power spike (not really better for ganking exclusively) is when I get tiamats and shocking shard thing.

  1. Always gank top first. (this is my opinionated matter but ere me out) when it comes down to all lanes, top is always ignored, if you go to gank top first, you'll almost always rewarded by ganking. Since most tops dont ward and play super aggro,

  2. you dont always have to farm every camp. If you picked a jungler for ganking, go and gank. Your jungle farm store exp the longer they stay alive so there's no reason not to gank.

  3. If your lanes are shoved, find out the one with the most pushing potential on the enemy team and wait and sit in a brush, let the enemy push, and then surprise gank from brush. (lane ganks are always fun and usually get you assits and kills)

  4. Play a tank jungler. Easiest way to dive once you get cinderhulk and guaranteed you are able to frontline once laning phases are over.

thats my 2 cents.

I found a great guide here that's really helpful for me as a Jungler also trying to get to Plat. The top Junglers is a bit outdated (looking at Kindred in particular here) but the information on Jungle Pathing and being efficient is really good.
