Idle Detector in Practice tool

I get that its necessary. I agree with it. but when someone isn't idle in a game, but is at base, buying items and looking through how they affect a champion, and then it disconnects me because I have been idle, that is ridiculous. I am not idle, clearly. I'm moving my mouse. Interacting with the application. just because I don't move my champion doesn't mean i'm not still there. And yes I understand that its as easy as exiting shop, moving around for a second, and then going back to shop, but that shouldn't be necessary if you are clearly not idle. for normal games, I understand that you set it like that so it won't be abused, otherwise people will just sit in spawn and troll but not get caught by the leaverbuster or whatever system detects idle people as long as they are playing around. they can do the same thing by just moving their characters every now and then but that is besides the point. In a practice tool, no one is trying to abuse the system. its just pissing us off and wasting our time every time we get disconnected because we weren't moving the champ and paying attention to how much time its been idle. it seems like an easy fix but who knows. I just want to ask for a small quality of life buff for practice tool I guess. Lol.

Also if this isn't the right place to put this let me know where is. I made a support ticket and they told me to post it here, I just don't know which board.

This is annoying. Upvoted

I agree, and adding to this, the whole "you might get banned from future games!" threat when you leave is also both lazy and completely unnecessary. It's the Practice Tool, not an actual game, and keeping the same anti-leave stuff in the wrong context just feels like someone was unwilling to make even a small effort in that respect.

Well, even though you aren't interacting with other players you still are using bandwidth and putting some stress on their servers

not saying I don't agree with you or anything but just trying to provide a logical reasoning for it

I definitely agree that its good to have it there for bandwidth purposes, just that it needs to be tweaked a bit only in practice tool so its not as obnoxious.

why is the practice tool not a local client side thing? why does the practice tool take up band width?

NightAngel1911 votes

actually yeah. I think I've played heroes of the storm and their practice tool doesn't require internet. it might have something to do with how old the client is, or maybe they just haven't thought it was needed.

You have to be afk looking through items for upwards of 3-5 minutes to get disconnected. You deserve to get connected in that case you could look at items on the way to lane or while waiting for lane to push while in lane buys are only supposed to take upwards of 15 seconds max. As a noob you can get away with looking around items but deep into post level 40 you should know what items do even if you dont play them. In pratice tool its not nessicary though if thats what you getting at

As crappy as an excuse as it is, I'm a support main, so while I know the general effects of all the items, the only ones I know without looking are the ones I'm used to using. Those are pretty limited. Plus with champs like Pyke, I need to learn more items. Again, its a crappy excuse, but it is one.

yes what I'm saying is in practice tool its not totally necessary other than for bandwidth, and as I said a second ago, it just needs a quality of life tweak. leave it how it is in normal games lol.
