Zyra's new passive is great and fun, but I feel like a wet noodle shooter 99% of the time.

Rework of the passive is great, the delayed shooter plant shot sucked, but her burst is gone. Her Q spitter plants don't hit for anything anymore. Use to be able to poke and keep people out. Now people just walk through the plants and late game is a joke, they do nothing. Was at like 67% win rate before the rework, and now have gone down to like 45%. The lasher vines do the damage and people can just walk away. The spitters need a buff badly.

She can zone if people get scared, but once they realize they do no damage it's meh, I'll just walk through and kill you. She feels so weak right now it sucks. Was my favorite champ and now I'm removing her until something is fixed with the damage.

Also my vine seems to be missing, or Lulu and Vayne can roll over it somehow? Vayne maybe but I had a Lulu totally get hit and nothing.

Idk what Zyra you're playing, but any Zyra I see shreds with plants. Her ult also makes them go absolutely ballistic in team fights.

we should talk about the way you build her and the way you use the plants.

a 60% winrate is great, but its only over 40 games played. thats not really representative. one of the important things is to not only have one plant of the same kind. the plants do less damage if they are all q activated. try to have one q activated plant and one root activated plant when you fight. also try not to activate too many plants at once but use the cheap q to always have a plant firing. i avoid fast boots on her. mpen is key. liandry's is a must build imo. when i support i often use a MS quint to give her some additional movement. As mid i rune her heavy pen. I feel that she is still very strong, you have to be a little more concerned now which plants to activate though.

I agree that her burst isnt as strong as it used to be, i used to get kills by using a flash seed ult root q combo. that dosnt kill as easy midgame as it used to. lategame it still does though.

I think she is still strong.

what really annoys me is the stupid RNG of the passive. i wish it would spawn seeds in a cone projected to where you are looking so you have at least some control over where they spawn!

Ditto. The math on the rework essentially taxes you 1 plant worth of damage in exchange for the passive. In other words, when you use your EWQWR combo now it's the equivalent of EQWR from before the rework.

Basically a 2-plant combo today is the same damage as a 1-plant combo before the nerf. Now you need 3 plants in a combo to match your old burst damage, but you cannot control when or where that third plant will be. Your W cooldown is also longer and you have less CDR for much of the game, so you have less access to EWQW combos period.

The new Zyra is not good. People hate playing against her because she has an oppressive level 1-3, and it's hard to learn how to play against her because her RNG passive is innately chaotic. In short, playing with or against her involves more luck than should exist in an e-sport game. Her enemies always remember the time her passive procs two seeds right under their feet during her combo, and her players know that 99% of the time you need a passive seed for a combo it will spawn 100 yards behind you in BFE under your tower.

It's not satisfying at all.

that is only true if you use plants of the same type. if you have an q activated plant AND a w activated plant they both do 100% damage. you need to be precise!

Totally agree with that! I loved her before and now it's just BLAH!

i agree she doesn't seem to scale well into late game at all. her laning phase is good thanks to the volume of plants she outputs but she doesn't have the stopping power later on. the old zyra felt stronger to me, for sure.

I've been playing zyra a lot lately and ive noticed you jus thave to build her a little differently. I feel her best stats are now MPen > CDR > AP. I changed from TL to DFT for masteries and building liandrys and rialas makes you a team-fight god. I'm only silver though so there's that. I do wish they'd cut the passive area in half but that's my only wish.

I feel like a wet noodle shooter 99% of the time with her aswell, just that my results usually suggest that i shoot enough noodles to drown my opponents in noodles, and drowning usually is rather deadly. She lost a bit of all in burst and dps, but therefor she has better harras and can keep up her plants duering fights as she doesn't really run out of seeds anymore.

I liked old zyra more, feeled more like a skill champs where you have to land a good combo and get great reward for it, but in terms of raw efficiency, new zyra is just as potent.

The problems I've noticed with her are that despite shifting more power into the plants, they aren't very powerful in of themselves. Currently they scale from 24-109 base damage with a 15% ratio which is very very low. AoE damage is everywhere these days and with how fragile her plants are it's very easy to shut down her DPS with 2 abilities during a team fight. She's a great lane bully early game but if she falls behind it's brutal since her overall base damage and AP scalings are low. The way she scales right now creates some very awkward plateaus in power compared to other mages.

I think the flavor of her passive is good but the plants themselves seem to follow a power curve of: annoying -> (Core Items) a little more annoying -> (6 item build) a bit threatening (keyword, a bit)

The current build I've used mostly is: Morello > Sorc > Rylai's > Liandry's/Void > Liandry's/Void > Deathcap/Situational

Considering how much counter play the plants have (fragile, immobile, occasionally wonky AI, etc.) they feel really weak.

I think they could bring down her passive radius to 850 (same range as her W) maybe make it 900 so the plants can actually be stronger.

For plant numbers, keep the base but make it scale by +7 so it goes: 24-143 and make the AP ratio at least 30%.

W could also give the same percentage of bonus health as attack speed. Scaling from the current .8 Attack Speed: .88/.96/1.04/1.12/1.2

sorry for wall of text

OK, went with the Magic Pen instead of CD. Won 10 in a row...hmmmm. Not sure if I'm playing her all that differently, but also only trying to hit 1 plant so the damage doesn't 1/2. Starting to see the damage come back with Sor Boots, Landry's 3rd item. Can't say I'm hating it as much. The plant spam of 45% CD is gone, but the harder hitting plants is great. Also changed my tree from the Thunder Lords to Death Fire Touch. Seems to be a great set up for her. Thanks for all the ideas everyone, I think I'll stick with my favorite champ after all.
