Petition to lower Hextech Chest availability days

Hi.

I would love if the Hextech Chest availability for each champ was changed to 2 days instead of 7 days. Not really because I want more free gifts from Riot , but mainly because I pride myself on being able to play every champ well, and I would love to try to get every chest for every champ just as a personal goal.

Currently there are 134 champions in league... (and more are being made all the time)

If you did the math, 7 x 131 would be 917 days (I took out 3 because you can essentially get 4 of them in the first week you start) .. so it would take at least 917 days to accomplish this task, which is obviously impossible because the chests reset every season.

Even though 2 days seems like a very short amount of time, it would still take 262 days to complete every champ, which seems fair and possible. It wouldn't be too crazy because you'd still have to earn or buy keys, which have a rare droprate; and of course you'd still have to earn the S to unlock the chest. ( I wouldn't be opposed to changing it to only S and above if this change is implemented, considering that currently S- will unlock a chest.)

Even if I don't get my wish at 2 days, 3 days would suffice, taking 393 days would still be impossible in a year's time, but it's at least more logical than 917...

I'd settle for being able to buy Hextech keys for IP.

I can't do anything with all these chests if I don't have keys.

Not sure what your suggestion accomplishes really. If you don't want more free things, simply getting an S- on every champion would be equivalent to your goal. Getting an S- or higher isn't gated by any timers so this goal depends entirely on you. If you can manage playing all 134 champions and getting an S- or higher on every one from the start to the end of the Season, all the power to you.

But getting Hextech Chests on every champion isn't really an achievement. Gertting an S score is. Chests are merely a reward for that and those rewards grant us free things. The rewards need to be paced. Currently, i don't feel like we're getting the short end of the stick. I think we're right in the middle.

Many people are already upset that they are not able to get keys fast enough to keep up with chests, because keys are dropping with a calculated rate after each won match, while you get the chest guaranteed if you get the s rating. I don't think that Riot wants people to complain about it even more (the complain is pointless in the first place, it is free stuff, people should be grateful....).

That leaves Riot with 2 options:

Changing the drop algorithm for keys, too. Or maybe even make it like chest drops and give you keys guaranteed.... But this change would just increase the ammount of free stuff for people and that would harm Riots business. And in the end they have to get money to keep the game going.
Leaving it like it is right now.

While I understand that you want that personal challenge of having the chest for every champ... You can basically still achieve the same with the situation right now. Think about it, what is the chest exactly telling about your skill? That you managed to get at least 1 s rating on that champ in that season. The highest rating you got on the champ in the whole season is shown in your profile, too. So instead of requiring yourself to get a chest for each champ, just try to get that s rating on every champ shown in your profile.

But why would you want so much chests anyway? not like you'd be able to open em all, even with current 7 days you still are left with tons of chests

I already feel forced to play champions that i don't enjoy playing, this would only make it worse.

Your math doesn't exactly check out. You start the season with 4 obtainable chests and it refills up to 4 by 1 potential chest every 7 days. If you were able to get an S on 4 champions in the first week of January, then that is up to 8 chests that month.

8 + (4 x 12) = 56 chests. If you can get 56 chests the whole year with they keys as well, then more power to you. But if you're going to ask for over 100 free items from riot a year, that's not going to go very well.

I suppose you could settle for making your "season highest grade" or whatever it is look good. Perhaps riot could add a minor visual similar to the chest frame to the champ collection. Not what you're asking, but the way i see it youre not interested so much in the chests as you are in keeping score, so theyre more likely to give that its own overlay.

I just track my mastery score, because I too try to play all the champs. I'm really happy that we have a reward system at all. i mean the current chest drop rate seems fair for completely free stuff that you would normally pay a premium for.

I still have 10 chests and 0 key fragments lol. How do you need chests? Do you just get really insanely lucky with keys? Or am I just super unlucky?

Everyone saying "Riot shouldn't give more free gifts, you're lucky to get anything" ... I guess but isn't the point that you have to EARN it anyway? Also as people stated, the key drops are not every game, so you'd still have to buy keys or play tons of games to earn them anyways .
