The current state of Diamond V

When I was creeping my way toward diamond I started to hear a lot about how unbalanced the LP losses were in comparison to the gains in Diamond V. I didn't see it for myself until I reached it, where I lost 28 LP for one loss, and I've heard of people losing 30+, which is unthinkable to me. So when are LP losses going to be appropriately balanced in relation to the LP gains in this division? More importantly, why is it this way to begin with?
