Zileans Ultimate + Athene's Unholy Grail? Not functioning?

Howdy. I'm simply making this minor discussion to ask a question about the new mage items. Not that this is a massive deal or anything, but considering the new patch 6.9 and all the new items it introduced, as a bit of a weirdo Zilean main, I was pretty skeptical. As it turns out, Athene's Unholy Grail is meant to be the new "Damage but also with a heal" kind of item meant for all the Taric, Karma, Thresh, Soraka, and Janna's of the world. Regardless though, I thought it'd be interesting to buy it on Zilean like I always have. My early build as a support zilean main has always been a Tear of the Goddess, Athene's Unholy Grail, and Boots of Lucidity, so I thought the change could only be helpuful. However, it seems like the new passive on the Grail doesn't function with Zil's ultimate. I was kinda hoping it would, as zilean is a very high damage poke support, and yet he has an ult in the form of an AP Scaling revive. Now, in the text of "Chronoshift", it says the ally "regains" so and so hitpoints upon being revived. I don't know if this wording nullifies my claim, but I still think a "Restore ally to 1 hp" and followed by "regain a certain amount of HP" should count as a heal. I feel like it would make it a very nice corner piece to zilean, as the CDR and AP is more then welcome, and making zileans ultimate even stronger when he's being this aggro support like he was built to be would be nice. Any clarity?
