Reset was insanely punishing

I understand the point of a soft reset and have no problem with that. But that fact is this reset was ridiculously punishing. I ended the season in plat 4 and got placed in silver 1 after my placement games. It doesn't seem fair that i grinded all year, was plat 1 at two separate points in the season and now i get dropped 7 tiers because of a few bad games. i know several friends on my list also got dropped similar amounts and it just seems ridiculous and not a good representation of my skill level. Like i said I understand the point of a soft reset but it doesn't seem fair that i have to grind all the way through elo hell AGAIN because of some bulls*it placement games. I was gold all season 4 and plat for most of this season this reset is just ridiculous and not an accurate representation of the majority of players skill levels.
