Is it just me, or is % hp damage highly biased in favor of ad aa champs? I mean sure there's other stats with the items, but even if we consider those, they tend to favor the ad aa champ too. I mean I'm sorry, but aa jungler's and adc's with 0 armor pen items are feeling just a bit too strong right now.

- the malphite with a 1 level lead and full hp vs 2/3 hp yi should not be dying nearly as fast as he does. He also should have legit kill threat if all his abilities are up since he has a level lead, hp advantage, and full item ahead. But it doesn't happen.

Is armor not correctly decreasing the %hp damage right now? Could we maybe adjust the stupidly high level of %hp damage ad aa champs can deal? Because it feels very unhealthy for the game. Aside from scenario's above - sure you can argue maybe the malph or renek didn't play right... but I can tell you their opponent didn't play anything better than they did.
Xin or Yi with
and runes can be dealing somewhere from 1.6 to 2.0 autos per second no problem. Ignoring flat ad damage from their autos and just looking at %hp damage they will be dealing (using 2.0 aa/sec): 8% max hp + 16% current hp per second. Add in they lifesteal off all that, and it gets a bit crazy. Adc's are not much better - they also do way too much with bork and no armor pen vs an armor heavy enemy. Basically by 2.5 items, these champs can ignore an ad caster's burst and sustained dps and just drain tank them 1v1 even if the ad caster has 3 items and a level or 2 lead. Sorry, but if someone is a full level or even 1.5 levels down and has maybe HALF a defensive item, they should be dying asap vs their opponent provided that opponent has ANY burst and decent dps.
But let's look at it another way.
16% current hp per sec + 8% max hp per sec from
vs
4% current hp per sec. For just under 500g more, the ad aa champ is getting 4x more %current hp damage per second plus 8% max hp per sec. Sounds just a LITTLE imbalanced to me. And yes, I know mages get more burst and higher ap from items than their opponent gets in ad - USUALLY. Though ap has been scaled back a bit too much on some items. You are seeing more 500 ap mages where they were 700 ap a year or 2 ago. But consider this too. While mages get call it 1/3 more flat ap from an item than ad champs get in terms of raw ad, ap champs only get to use that ap when casting a spell. They also have crap for defensive items synergizing with their kit compared to ad champs. Meanwhile, the ad champs apply their slightly lower amount of flat ad NOT ONLY via spellcasts (like ap champs), BUT ALSO via auto attacks. So ad champs get double the effectiveness from their ad vs the effectiveness ap champs get from their ap - exception being champs like kayle or ap champs with spammable abilities and lich bane or ryze.
What I'm trying to say is... ad aa champs seem a bit too strong right now thanks to % hp damage.
They can build 1 or 2 defensive items and the rest full damage items and be tankier (via drain tanking) than 3 or 4 defensive item bruisers and tanks while dealing more damage. Should they start to out-damage most bruisers? Yes. Should it happen by early mid game? No - should definitely be taking longer time. And they should be squishier to focused fire than such a tanky bruiser is, but there is no noticeable difference in many cases.
They get way too much effectiveness out of their items while being able to build half to 1 full mr item, and deal more than quadruple the % hp damage of an ap mage so that they have 0 threat of being killed while full threat of being able to kill the ap mage. Kinda seems stupid to me. Here I thought it was all about outplaying your opponent. But I get the feeling more and more lately that
