Ekko - Timewinder still active on champions death

I noticed in my last game that the timewinder "ball" is still active after killing Ekko. Its return feature shows it going back to the corpse of Ekko on the ground. Shouldn't the ability disappear like other champions abilities on death?

I think every form of skillshot continues after death, actually what abilities don't continue after death(excluding if they die during cast time of course).
