End of the season, I finally reached gold. Then preseason comes. Flex is introduced. So I went 8/2 in my placements for flex, and got gold 4. Keep in mind that one of the losses was actually a remake and I counted it as a loss.

Then they came out with "a potential fix." I played one more game, my team (of course) fed so hard, couldn't carry, and we lost.

I thought, "oh, maybe I'll just be placed gold 5 instead. Screw it, I'll take a silver 1 or 2, I can still climb out." After the game, a message came up and said I was placed in silver 5.

How is this a fix? Can someone provide me with insight how this potential fix actually works? In regular season if you go 8/2 when you're gold 5, do you get placed silver 5?

Yes, I am complaining about my rank; however, doesn't this seem a little broken? I hope someone can pet my hurt feelings item 3070

I ended up last season on Gold 3, played flex matches, got goldV, and then the potential fix came out, plays game, loses to bronze in my team, litterly diamond vs bronze in teams and i get bronze 1 so, Gold 3->GoldV->Bronze1

First placements were wrong. You wouldn't complain if they put you in S5 from the start. If you belong there, you'll get there.

From Gold 5 --> Silver 5 when I went 8/2 in promos? Trust me, I'm complaining.

Why do I need to play at least 50 more games (ten for each division. On average if you win 5 games you reach 100 LP, then you have to win 2 to go up. So I'm assuming i win 70% of the times you play, which is about right.. i think) than I need to?

It's not a fix. They screwed us all. I climbed 3 divisions and they put me back to the original division I was in with one placement; that I won, by a landslide.

It's bullshit. I was at S2 when I stopped playing soloQ last season. I played ranked 5's and made it to gold. Did my pre-season placements and got S1. Then randomly today I receive a message after winning a game that I was placed back to S5....Why?

I'm in the same boat as you, they erased 20+ hours of my life with the reason that I was receiving incorrect LP for those matches and that's how I climbed so fast. After their fix I played another match to see what LP I would get and got even more than before, basically proving them wrong :/

Because of the MMR mismatch in Flex Queue, you got reset to the original starting point (pre placements). But remember this is only Preseason, the rank you accomplish now WILL BE RESET AGAIN! The rank you get in preseason does only influnece the placement in Season 7 to a SMALL extend! (only your starting point in season 7 is affected by Preseason ranks) Sidenote: 1-2 Tier drops are completely normal in preseason.

I.E.: You were Plat 5 at the end of the season, were placed high Silver after placements, now got placed low Silver. If you now climb to Plat again, you will then only be placed in low Gold at the start of Season 7!

So dont worry to much about the current placement!

They fixed th MMR issue, but all games till now were to unbalanced and couldnt be used to identify your rank, so they needed to reset. Yeah this sucks balls, but atleast the matches should be better now :/

In ranked, you should never get placed in a higher rank in placements. Or even close to it. In placements you will always get placed a league lower. Maybe a little higher then that, but still. The placements were messed up, and now they're fixed. Placements have always been this way, and I'm sorry you lost that rank :c
