Ryze passive should turn of when you used 5 spells * /r/leagueoflegends

Hey there this post is about the 6.3 Ryze changes.

With 6.3 Ryze can only cast 5 spells within his passive. Currently when you use your 5 spells the passive stays active. This means that you can't stack spells for your next arcane mastery (passive) rotation because your previous passive is still active and your spells won't influence your passive at all (no cdr reduced and no stacks for next passive). You have to wait the full duration of the passive to wear out and then you can start stacking again. It feels clunky and you can't really do anything when waiting for your passive to wear out.

The main problem here, is that this change makes me not want to lvl up Q. Ryze his passive duration goes up when lvl'ing it (2.5-5 sec(actually this is 3-5 because you need 1 point in Q)) which means the less points you put into Q the more passive rotations you'll be able to pull off. The better you get at Ryze the faster you can rotate your spells. I can cast the 5 spells with no difficulty at all in 2 seconds. If I maxed Q, I would have to wait 3 seconds for my passive to wear of.

Lvl'ing an ability shouldn't have any disadvantages (except for cost). There are tons of solutions but I think that automatically turning your passive off after you used 5 spells is a nice and one of best solutions.

As it is now, I agree that he feels really unintuitive, and something definitely ought to be done about how his q and passive work at the moment. If we take Ryze a step further in the direction he's currently headed, perhaps he could get a flat duration for his passive, while the passive's "cooldown" is reduced with level or ranks in his q. He could also potentially gain some bonus when he's succeeded in casting all of his 5 empowered spells to make the combo "feel" more successful, ranging from, but not limited to: reduction of his passive cooldown, complete reset of his basic abilitys' cooldowns, an aoe burst of damage, another mana shield/moving the mana shield to the combo completion, a chunk of mana regeneration, a nice visual/audio effect
