RP in exchange for skins when a champ is reworked

I just played Leblanc for the first time since her rework. Regardless of opinion in terms of whether it made her stronger, weaker, etc., I feel that riot should make an RP refund option when a champ is completely reworked (in exchange for losing the skin(s)). I played Leblanc and enjoyed 0% of the game because I simply don't like the new way she functions. It feels completely different to me. That being said I bought 3 skins for Leblanc back when I played her as my main and now they are of no use to me. Im not protesting the changing of champions (although I am sad about it), but the fact that a person makes a purchase on a champion then the champion is given a complete rework. Any thoughts?

I totally agree, I think everyone deserves a refund if riot just decides to botch a champ you enjoy to play and just simply give the excuse of, "sorry you payed for it no refunds."

A multi billion company should act much more mature and reasonable with it's customers.

I think its pretty reasonable and mature.

You agreed to it all. They don't owe you anything due to changes. In fact, you don't even own all those skins, champions, etc. on your account. You've merely bought access to them.

Yeaaaah trust me bruh, I'd have liked that. When Galio's 520s became more well-done than most of the game's 975+ skins, I was pretty fucking miffed; Gatekeeper used to be his coolest one and now it's just Teron'gor. Which is horribly depressing.

I'd like them to at least consider it when they do this; changing the skins is just changing the product they bought. The champion is one thing, but fooling around with the RP used to buy skins can come with some implications. It's a bummer, because I don't think I'll step outside of Enchanted Galio; it's just so well-done that it's frightening, because you don't see that sort of quality 'til about 1350s (and not all of them, even then).

I wish they'd consider their players a bit more. Riot's been getting too heady lately, it's almost as if we're being ignored because they don't want to talk about changing old policies or backing down on earlier denials (refunds are a big one).

You'd think with all the competition popping up, they'd care a little more. But it seems to me they've banked their assets on a different demographic that seems to produce results for big, flashy change-- whether that change accomplishes anything or not.

I feel like it's very much the Skins team in particular. They've just been dropping the ball a lot lately, and their design policies haven't improved since about 2014.

It's the pandering. High school kids like big tiddy and cool guys like Yasuo. So, you give all the big tiddy skins. And, of course, yordles will always be popular because of Teemo.

I don't like the way they're handling things. I get skins are ideas and such, but a level of balanced distribution would make characters feel less like they're 'just there' to beef out the ranks and make it look impressive, while the ones they obviously intend you to play get this big new flashy skins, with their own splashes, events, announcements and spanky new effects. And, of course, the tiddy.

Meanwhile, Illaoi doesn't get shit because they're too busy giving it to girls who have anime tiddy proportions (IE Ahri, Sona-- bitch floating with those tiddy would give you back problems so bad you'll be hittin chiropractors twice daily by the time you're 21... and nobody can tell me Ahri ult isn't just a gravity nightmare)... there's also these hextech exclusive ones, which is funny because I've seen them so few times and they're still just skins. In fact, I hate Hextech Annie-- I can never recognize her fireballs for what they are (and so make tactical decisions around them) because they look like different effects. Woop! Of course I've only seen her twice. These seem like accoutrements to make a hackneyed system look less, well, hackneyed. Hextech Crafting is basically the ghetto version of what every other MOBA does... which I will never, ever understand.

It just feels like they're taking the easy way out. I know Viktor and Illaoi and Cassiopeia and Karthus have tough designs to work with. That's why they're rewarding! We're not asking for a brand new, original, all-inclusive skin idea for each. We want something that's more than just a paintjob on them, though. 750s and shiz are good for, say, Garen who has a lineup of skins that cover various things, and a 1350 that gives him cool new effects. They feel like a kick in the jaw on someone like Karthus, who doesn't really have a whole lot that stands out as a skin (once more honorable mention to deathscream on R for Pentakill). Like, how about Candy King Karthus? Can you not tell me you don't want to see little bubblegums popping on his Q?

But that's just bitching an' I sure do a lot of that. I don't want refunds on the champion, but on the skins since especially lately, they start to change up a lot-- had I known Enchanted Galio was going to hold more quality than a vast percentage of the skins I already own, I would have only bought him. But he was 520... based on that, I expected him to be mediocre skin-wise for... well, ever. Now, his effects changed, the model's changed, and the splash is sexy as hell. This is literally everything Karthus Lightbane is except cooler, cheaper, and more appropriate since it already existed and then became a recolor skin. Old Enchanted Galio was ugly supreme and was just a colored skin. Now, it's so much more than most other skins. It's definitely not worth 520, it's easily surpassing some 975s I own. It's basically as BAMF as Tyrant Swain.

I just want to know why nobody's addressing these things; these gaps in quality that suggest a different value and a different product. While I'm okay keeping the champ after an update (as much as IDGAF about Gangplank anymore because of his), it would be nice for an opt-in-- for a duration before their release but after their tease, you get the option to submit for an RP refund on all owned skins, which will ofc be to the value you bought them (so buying on sale means partial refund which may mean you don't get the full value of RP back and thus might not get it again), especially nowadays because the art is just held to a totally different standard. This would be less valuable on types like Ahri and Riven who have gotten recent skins; this would be great on types like Warwick whose skins changed flavour entirely in some case (old vs new Hyena is gr8 and I love that skin now-- I also like all WW's skin updates though). Naturally, I don't expect them to budge from refunds; I feel like people take advantage of it.

I just want my RP back on skins that got vastly changed even though the pricing rubric remains the same. There is no way you can look at Galio's old skins and their updated versions, and tell me that these aren't two entirely different selections of items (excepting maybe Gatekeeper). I don't want the IP back on the champ, just the RP on the skins, so that I can choose to buy or not buy new ones based on them being held to newer standards. I don't want to own skins that no longer really reflect their old worth or old value. When their 520s get updated to be so swanky-- which is definitely awesome-- it feels a little rough to have something like a 1350 or an 1820 and really only get some slightly different effects and voice lines out of it.

Skins aren't even that important and don't really do anything. It'd just be nice for Riot to extend an olive branch once in a while. That said, it usually backfires on them, so...

Riot used to do this in the past if you asked them for a refund on content that got reworked.

Problem was, word got out about it and people began to abuse it whenever something got reworked just to get RP back for content they hardly ever used. I believe they said that requests for refunds went up over 10000% or something once it became common knowledge, basically clogging up the support team with refund requests from people who never even played the champion they wanted refunded anyway.

That's why they stopped offering refunds around the time of Karthus's AV update.

I would prefer skin tokens, equivalent to the amount of money spent on the skin. So if you bought it on discount... you can only get something equivalent to the amount of money spent. Otherwise, I could buy all the Aatrox skins before they rework him and buy any skin that came out since then. My method doesn't really work, but really, there is no way to do this. Riot can't give away free money just because they changed something. Reworks are for the best no matter how you look at them. A champion has never been reworked and seen a lower play rate than it had prior to the rework.

I agree, I hope they put this system into place.
