as you can see my placements where 9 wins 1lose the last game i had to vs all plat team so whe lost after that it was saying bronze 5 when i won 9 games and only lost 1
The Sword Saint2 votesThey aren't plat in that queue, the plat rank doesn't mean shit. It's not calculated or taken into account when deciding your rank in this queue. You all started from 0 since flex queue is a new queue entirely.

it shouldn't matter since flex Q is an entirely new ladder and everybody starts at a MMR reset (hence all the diamonds and platinums in silver for some reason).

Cause I don't see how my silver 5 friend got silver 2 after flex Q placements, and some diamonds I know are placed in silver.
I'm currently gold 5 with silver 2 in flex q (expected), but if I check lolskill, I'll have atleast 3 platinums in my matches and 2 diamonds in the entire game.
So no, I don't believe for a second MMR for flex q carries over, and if it was intended to then it needs fixed.
LostFr0st1 votesI'm more than pretty sure it's for both. It's just that in preseason is a clusterfest and things that you listed above happen every year. (even the Silver 5 in S2 and the Diamonds in high Silver.) I'm pretty sure you're referencing their last-year's rank in lolskill, but since mmrs got reset those people are now considered Silver/Gold.
This will keep happening for ~a week until the Plats and Diamonds climb and separate from those with Silver/Gold mmr. Then we can all chill and enjoy some more balanced games in ranked.
Sukishoo1 votesNo it's not. Solo/Duo looks at your Dynamic Q MMR. Flex 5s doesn't care about it, and Flex 3s does use it as a base since it blocks people out that aren't in the same range as you (I tired to queue with a bronze there and it didn't work, but it does in Flex 5s)

That might mean Riot has changed where new players will land when they play ranked for the first time... so climbing up and out of Bronze will actually mean something... like a trial by fire... hmm I have so many questions now.

LostFr0st1 votesOk, consider this: were you alone or in a 5-stack with higher mmr people? 5-stacks gain less mmr since they should be placed vs higher mmr opponents so that if they win they'll get the appropriate amount of mmr and climb (But everyone was reset now so they have no mmr to grab from their opponents right now). That's the only possible explanation I can think of.
If you were solo then I legit don't understand why you placed B5 other than Riot maybe moving the starting rank for new players.

LostFr0st1 votesNow look through who you were vs. To get placed high you would have needed to either be placed vs a team with those same ranks or higher, otherwise you'd gain almost no mmr. I do think B5 is very harsh though, unless you were vs 5 bronze or low silver for most games.

Jayblaze1 votesunranked = bronze. Maybe not bronze 5, but low bronze for sure. Also, your rank isnt determined only on wins, it takes into account your overall performance in your games. So if you won a game by getting carried, well, thats that
