I am definitely not trying to start an argument over whether "hurt feelings" should be a bannable offense or not, so please take the following as pure INFORMATION, not an attack. Please.
1: threatening to report, or asking others to report a player is considered bullying and is a punishable offense if the log ends up being reviewed because someone filed a report (but usually not all by itself in my experience, there usually needs to be other negative comments as well).
2: Consistently negative chat CAN be punishable if it is reported and is constant enough (I don't really know exactly how constant it has to be)
I am assuming if you were permabanned, then you received other punishments in the past few months. As I understand it, there's an incremental system they use (x day chat ban, y day chat ban, 14 day suspension, permaban) and they usually don't skip tiers unless you were using things deemed hate speech or were reported in MANY games over a very short time period. You have to go three months without your behavior appearing on the system's radar again to drop a tier. So if you had a 14 day ban two months ago, your next report is going to get you permabanned regardless of how severe the toxicity was.
If your chat log is generally tame, I suggest submitting an appeal and maybe the ban can be reversed. But, to be honest, the tone of your original post was somewhat aggressive, mildly rude, seemed to suggest that trash talk, profanity and the like should be allowed (the agreement I mentioned before makes it clear that it is not, whether you or I agree with Riot or not, we click agree, so it applies), and that there is something wrong with hippies or liberals. I point this out not as an attack or to start an ideological argument, but only to call your attention to the fact that the tone of your post is very negative and dismissive of others (or at least could easily be received that way), so if you do appeal, look at the chat logs they sent you as evidence and truly consider whether other people might consider them overwhelmingly negative. If you feel they aren't bad, appeal. I have seen a manual review overturn these things on rare occasions.
