why i barely want to play in s8

sorry if this is from the pbe boards, but i was hoping to get some more feedback, and this post has some updates as well

with every new change, every new addition, every new overhaul, it seems like every single new mechanic that is added to the game has to be either super situational, or just a straight up gimmick. this hasn't been much of an issue until i finally got to feel what the new runes were like, and frankly, i barely like any of them. exactly what i feared would happen to this game is happening, as its becoming more about "who utilizes their situational gimmick" the best, as it seems to be mattering less and less about how you as a player play in general. The new runes feel super easy to cheese with, making people on the other end feel like every duel they fight with someone is a very unfair one, since they managed to abuse some tiny situational "gimmick" that decided the duel, lane, and potentially the game. Not only is there a lack of clarity on many of these new runes, as well as some feeling pretty unfair in certain situations, while useless in others, it feels like every time i go into lane, i have to play around my own champion more than i have to play around my own opponent. it makes you lose fights you should be winning, and makes the game feel unfair in a sense.

And it sucks, because there aren't many other games that i would rather play, and league is just turning into an even more unfun "who can play around their 'gimmicks' the best and get put in the best situations, thats what determines duels, lanes, and potentially games." another reason why with every new rework i fear that one of the few champions i play who has pretty reliable abilities and playstyle might get pumped full of situational gimmicks that i am now forced to play around instead of being able to utilize effectively. this isn't necessarily just because of a single game, its a trend i've seen league head towards ever since i started playing.

While this may make the game feel more "interesting and undecided", it feels more like "im getting cheesed" and "there's very little that i can reliably utilize here" at this level. yes it may be a "low elo" thing, but until i can go into a ranked game without getting a headache, that won't change.

i just hope i can log on one day and find a skill floor thats approachable to my friends to get them to want to play this game so hopefully they don't feel like they don't know what they are doing anymore because things that worked before no longer work.

hopefully i can get some input from riot, but hopefully some more people have the same view here rather than getting put through a wave of hate.
