why do people give up?

Why do people give up when behind by a fair amount of gold? ive had people tell me i know we can win but its not worth the time id rather just start a new game, or it will hurt me in the long run? at what point was climbing over you always have a lead, or the amount of gold you are behind isnt that much, i personally always thought winning those types of games provided one has the mindset to win them is far more satisfying than steamrolling

just stall out every game to 50 minutes plus and every one gets full build and gold lead dont matter any more... and who ever gets lucky with a team fight wins game

If my team can't stop feeding in the first 15 minutes....what makes you think they're gonna stop in the next 15 ? I want to ff. I'm not for that "never surrender" bullshit. If I have a shit feeding ass team, I don't want to spend a second more than I have to playing with them.

Probably cause they don't know actually know how to make a big comeback so they pretend time is such a big issue to them even though they have the time to play multiple league games.

sometimes winning isn't worth it

To over come a deficient you need team work. Odds are that the team got behind cause there was a lack of synergy to begin with. Team work with strangers normally degrades as more bad things happen.

Sure i know we can win if people want to work with me, do i believe that people want to work with me though? Or is there another person doing what i consider is questionable tactics?

When you are behind you have to calculate why you are behind, and what your comp can really do. Most people can not answer a comp question correctly. If one person on the team can, does not mean the rest can actually do it then. Also most people that think they can are lying to themselves.

Personally I run into maybe 1 team mate in 30 games that can actually THINK and problem solve about the game. Its about 1 in 100 games where i run into a person who can think and actually act on that thought process, it is harder than it sounds

The skill sets required to over come a X quantity gold loss just does not exist in a sufficient amount of games to put the work and stress in at times.

Lastly if you were good enough to win why would you end up in a major deficit to start with?

Because snowballing. and also because it's hard to catch up when fighting a losing game. Not to mention that if the difference in skill is highly noticeable or obvious, then it can become a deterrent.

at that point people would rather just let the other team have the win instead of wasting time on a very likely lost game and then move on to the next game and hope for a more even matchup instead of a stomp. Remember that games can take even close to half an hour or 40 minutes if delayed. To some players time is precious and they may not have a lot of it every day to chill out and play so people would rather not waste it on a struggle and instead look for that good game that feels good when both teams play on even ground.

Sometimes when everyone is 0-10 on your team, the enemy team hasn't lost a single turret, and when everyone of your inhibs are down...... It is just not fun to play anymore. It is more fun to take the loss and try your luck in the next game.

Because they're quitters.

Cavemantero10/8/2016, 9:20:10 PM1 votes

Because this game conditions people to be quitters. Instead of salvaging the time by actually trying to get better against tough odds that they committed queuing up for in the first place, they'd rather piss it away and get themselves stomped if they're not stomping. Funny thing is, if they would even consider that the other team MOST LIKELY has a quitter on their team as well, they would hang in there but they don't. They shut down and tilt because they're simply poor sports. I can count on more than two hands the amount of times someone called for surrender...when WINNING...and not just winning but STOMPING ASS! They're so focused on whether they have a good KDA or not they can't fathom what its actually like to rely on teammates and play as a team.

Because to them, stats mean more than skill. Therefore, once you lose stat advantages, you lack the ability to win by any means other than an lucky break where the opponents make a mistake or stalling out the game to the point that you could have won 2 more games in the time it took to finish winning that one, or both.

Also, most people give more of a damn about their personal stats than they should. If they win by going 12/14/5, that looks bad, or at least not great, on paper for themselves personally so they just refuse to let it get to that point. Basically, they'd rather quit the instant they fall behind so the number of deaths assigned to their name is minimized whilst also maximizing the number of kills they get from good games at the same time. In this respect, this game is becoming more and more like FPS games where "if I lose its not my fault. My stats prove it, see??"

Its also worth noting that they might want S ranks, or that a game lasting 60 minutes won't give you 3 times as much IP or LP, so either winning or losing games quickly is more beneficial to you than dragging out just one game.

It really matters on your own point of view, really.

Playing with 4 teammates who all got stomped and are holding you hostage past 20 mins is probably the most frustrating thing in the game.
